The works imply the presence of a neighboring apartment building through the window as a parallel experience. Objects with specific emotional weight—books, notes, coffee pots—rest on the windowsill as vestiges of daily life. In the accompanying Threshold Studies, the opposite, exterior vantage point is taken, only revealing small fragments of life or vacancy—a blurred houseplant, a barely opened curtain, a “for-rent” sign in a likely-vacant apartment.
