Folding Djinn

Folding DjinnOur first fully featured folding knife, based off of our legendary fixed blade Djinn fighter. We wanted to make a high end "fighting folder" for those that can't legally carry fixed blades in their state, or want the extra reach that a folder provides. The Folding Djinn takes up roughly the same carry footprint as an EDC fixed blade like our Elvia V2, while giving you ten inches of reach when held at the end of the handle.  Our first fully featured folding knife, based off of our legendary fixed blade Djinn fighter. We wanted to make a high end "fighting folder" for those that can't legally carry fixed blades in their state, or want the extra reach that a folder provides. The Folding Djinn takes up roughly the same carry footprint as an EDC fixed blade like our Elvia V2, while giving you ten inches of reach when held at the end of the handle.

 These Folding Djinns feature our new locking system using a large machined S7 tool steel bolt that securely locks the blade. S7 tool steel is the most impact resistant steel and provides a long life with minimal lock wear. S7 is a high carbon steel and will rust, we recommend keeping a light coat of oil on the lock bar. You can disengage the lock from either side using the textured surfaces. The locking bolt can also be used to open the six inch razor sharp blade by depressing the lock and swinging the blade out with a wrist flick.

 The blade is made from CPM 3V hardened to HRC 60 for increased toughness and edge stability. 3V is a stain resistant steel but is not stainless and requires a light coating of oil to stop corrosion. We used our proprietary 3D machining on the blade: hollow ground near the heel for aggressive cutting performance with a transition to flat ground near the tip for optimized strength. These versions feature a bead blast or raw heat treat finish on the blades.

 The handles are machined from billet 7075 aluminum that is 50% stronger than 6061 aluminum commonly used in the knife industry. The scales are textured with a diamond pattern for increased grip. The clip mounting location is placed on both sides for tip-up carry. The knife runs on bronze phosphor washers that are self lubricating but they also benefit from a coating of the included Froglube if disassembled. 

 The 17-4 stainless steel pivots are also made in house on our CNC screw machine and are designed to be tightened or loosened with a penny for easy tuning of your knife's action without uncommon tools. The pivot is pressed into the scale from one side to eliminate spinning. All tuning or disassembly must be done from the side with visible handle screws.

 We found that Froglube seems to work best for function, reliability and performance. We included a sample size in the package for disassembly or cleaning. We recommend a liberal application on the pivot area, lock and blade.

 The knife may have some "break in" over the first few hundred opening and closings, and you should check your pivot tightness if it begins to loosen. Make sure to use Loctite when reassembling the pivot.

The Folding Djinn comes in the 3D printed foam display case and includes extra hardware and tools for disassembly.
