After 20+ years and thousands of shifts, the overdrive bearing can wear into the overdrive housing. This loosens up the clearances in the transmission and can cause alignment issues and eventually unwanted wear. The Power Driven 47/48 Case Saver installs between the overdrive bearing and the case to bring the tolerances back within factory specifications. Unlike any other product on the market, the Power Driven 47/48 Case Saver is designed specifically to work with the diesel transmissions in your Dodge RAM. The indexing tap prevents the case saver from spinning in the housing, while the inner notch allows the governor assembly found on ’95 and older transmissions to pass through without issue. This is a must-have part for your transmission rebuild.
