**PLEASE NOTE: This is not the homeopathic arnica that you often see in natural pharmacies. It is a whole-herb infused oil, which is much more potent and has some precautions. Please refer to the safety guidelines at the bottom of this page. 

Arnica can be useful in relieving discomfort from pain or trauma when there is no break in the skin:

• Bumps, bruises, contusions 
• Pulled muscles
• Achy joints
• Sprains and strains
• Torn ligaments
• Blunt force trauma
• Neck tension, whiplash
• Swelling from falls or blows

Arnicalholic Salve is made by infusing whole arnica herb into a carrier oil using a special double-extraction process that squeezes out every last bit of goodness from the herbs, producing a potent, whole-herb infused healing oil. The oil is then combined with the shea butter, beeswax, and essential oils.

How Does Arnica Work?

Arnica works by inhibiting inflammation, stimulating circulation and encouraging the body’s natural healing process.

Arnica contains about 150 different bio-active components that all have varying actions. One is preventing the activation of NF-kβ at the onset of the inflammatory process, making it one of the fastest and most effective ways of preventing inflammation without the side effects of ibuprofen, diclofenac, and other NSAIDs.

In fact, some studies have found arnica equally effective to ibuprofen.

Essential oils juniper berry, plai and peppermint are included specifically to amplify the pain relief benefits.

• External use only
• Use only on intact skin. Do not apply to cuts, open wounds or sores, or near mucus membranes
• Not for long-term use; general recommendation is up to 2 weeks
• Contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation
• Not for use on small children under age 7 and the elderly
• Use with caution if allergic to Asteraceae and Compositae families of plants (examples include daisy, sunflower, marigold, chamomile, ragweed, chrysanthemum)
• Discontinue if signs of redness or itching
