A fully loaded ammunition chest for the M1857 light 12-Pound Napoleon carried 32 rounds and weighed around 650 pounds. In addition to the normal ammunition in the limber chest, around five rounds of anti-personal canister were stored for emergency use should enemy infantry get too close.
