The SEH dongleserver ProMAX is the enterprise‑grade solution designed for server rooms and data centers that rely on USB license dongles to unlock critical software. As the larger, more robust counterpart to the standard Pro model, ProMAX elevates dongle management to a networked, centralized workflow that minimizes downtime and maximizes license visibility. With a focus on high availability, ProMAX consolidates disparate dongles into a single, secure gateway, enabling seamless access for all authorized users and devices across your entire LAN. Whether you’re running design suites, engineering tools, or specialized software with floating or node-locked licenses, ProMAX ensures licenses are always reachable when you need them most. Built for reliability, it is engineered to thrive in demanding server-room environments, delivering uninterrupted license access even under peak workloads.

  • Centralized network access to all USB license dongles: ProMAX turns physical dongles into a reliably accessible network resource. Clients don’t need to physically plug in dongles or shuttle them between workstations anymore. Instead, authorized computers request licenses over TCP/IP, while ProMAX handles the enforcement, checks, and distribution in real time. This reduces downtime, eliminates lost dongles, and fosters smoother collaboration across teams and sites.
  • Enterprise-grade reliability for demanding server rooms: Designed for 24/7 operation, ProMAX features dual built-in power supplies that provide redundancy in case of a power fault or supply failure. This architecture minimizes single points of failure and helps maintain continuous license availability during routine maintenance or unexpected outages. With ProMAX, your licensing workflow remains stable even when other systems are undergoing maintenance or restarts.
  • Scalable license management for growing teams: Whether you’re supporting dozens or hundreds of concurrent users, ProMAX scales to accommodate multiple dongles and license pools. It supports a mix of dongle types commonly used in professional software environments, and its centralized dashboard gives administrators a clear view of which licenses are in use, by whom, and for how long. This scalability is essential for evolving teams, large design studios, or multi‑site operations.
  • Secure, auditable access with centralized administration: ProMAX provides role‑based access control, logging, and audit trails so administrators can monitor usage patterns and enforce policy compliance. Network access is secured, and events—such as license requests, releases, and errors—are recorded for forensic analysis or operational reviews. This makes it easier to meet internal governance standards and vendor compliance requirements.
  • Easy deployment and simple day‑to‑day operation: The device ships with an intuitive web‑based management interface that guides you through initial setup, dongle registration, and license pool configuration. Ongoing administration is straightforward, with real‑time status indicators and clear notifications when licenses are in use or experiencing contention. For teams transitioning from physical dongle handling, ProMAX reduces the learning curve and speeds up productivity from day one.

How to install SEH dongleserver ProMAX

  • Plan your deployment: Determine the number of clients that will access licenses simultaneously and map out the likely dongle types you will be using. Identify a suitable network segment with reliable connectivity and plan for future growth.
  • Connect power and network: Install ProMAX in a secure, ventilated rack. Connect the dual built‑in power supplies to a power source that supports redundancy (and follow your facility’s power policy). Attach an Ethernet cable to your LAN switch, ensuring port speed aligns with your network performance needs.
  • Boot and access the management interface: Power on the device and use the default network discovery method or DHCP to obtain an IP address. Open a web browser and enter the device’s IP address to access the web‑based management UI. If your environment uses a static IP, configure the IP settings through the interface first.
  • Register dongles: Insert USB license dongles into the ProMAX’s USB ports or connect dongles via supported adapters, then use the management UI to register each dongle in the appropriate license pool. Assign dongles to user groups or clients as needed to reflect your licensing model.
  • Configure license pools and client access: Create license pools that align with your software vendors and license counts. Define client access rules, including which users or devices can request licenses, and set any concurrency limits to optimize availability.
  • Validate and test: From a workstation, attempt to acquire a license through the network path to confirm that ProMAX is correctly issuing and reclaiming licenses. Monitor the real‑time status and event logs for any warnings or errors during the test run.
  • Document and monitor: Save the configuration, record IP addresses, dongle IDs, and pool mappings, and establish a routine for monitoring license usage. Regularly review logs to detect anomalies, ensure policy compliance, and plan capacity for growth.

Frequently asked questions

  • What is SEH dongleserver ProMAX Device Server?
The ProMAX is a networked dongle server designed for server rooms and data centers. It centralizes USB license dongles so multiple clients can access licenses over the network, reducing the need to physically transfer dongles between machines and improving license availability for critical workloads.
  • Does ProMAX provide redundancy?
Yes. ProMAX incorporates dual built‑in power supplies to support reliability and uptime. This redundancy helps maintain license access even if one power path experiences a fault, aligning with enterprise expectations for continuous operation.
  • What kinds of dongles does ProMAX support?
ProMAX is built to work with USB‑based software license dongles commonly used in professional software ecosystems. Specific vendor compatibility should be confirmed with SEH or your vendor documentation to ensure support for your particular dongle models.
  • How do I access licenses from client machines?
Clients connect to the ProMAX device over the local network using standard network protocols (TCP/IP). After dongle registration and pool configuration, software on the client machines requests licenses through the network path, and ProMAX hands out licenses as needed while enforcing licensing rules.
  • What about security and monitoring?
The ProMAX solution includes access controls and event logging to support governance and security needs. Administrators can review license usage, detect anomalies, and maintain an auditable trail of license requests and releases.
  • How do I start using ProMAX in my environment?
Begin with planning and network placement, perform a guided setup through the web UI, register your dongles, configure license pools, and then validate the environment with a practical test. Regular monitoring and periodic maintenance will help sustain optimal performance over time.

They do have a key to resolve it. Make sure you can connect your computer to your printer.
The customer service is great. They answer your email within 2 hours. The product itself is great too! Comes with two ink pads, gloves, etc. just like what they are advertised. They have instructions and if you have any questions, you CAN contact them. Sadly, my computer couldn’t connect to the printer so I couldn’t use the key they gave me to resolve the problem. I got the printer second hand, wanted to fix the issue, but in order to fix it, we need a cable to connect the computer and the printer. It’s weird that we found two different software (same purpose), but one can connect, the other one (the one on the instructions with this product) can’t. I confirmed with them that we do need a cable. I asked my printer seller about the cable and googled about it, both said the printer doesn’t come with a cable. But when I emailed them (this product) about my issues, they said it should come with a cable to connect. So I don’t know the answer about the cable but what I know is that I either but a cable myself or buy a separate key on their website and hopefully it works. If you don’t know your key, you can email them and ask about it. They then will send you another instructions (another method I assume). It’s a really long key, so if you can connect your computer to the printer, I’m sure you can use the key that comes with the product. It’s just a little bit of a slow process, but at least you know now and you can easily fix it in the future. :) In case you want to know my printer model, it’s ET-4800. These are just my opinions, I hope you can fix yours without any issues! :)

Waste of time and money
Don’t waste your time. It did not work. Tried everything the instructions said but the software would not recognize my laptop. So I could not change the replacement pad.
