IS A CEILING BAFFLE RIGHT FOR ME?

The list below explains 3 of the most common scenarios where an acoustic ceiling baffle is needed:

1. WALL PANELS DON'T LOOK GOOD IN YOUR ROOM

Often times, because of the architecture of a room, installing acoustic panels on the wall space may not be practical or aesthetically pleasing. Some rooms have custom wood work on walls that needs to be showcased, a brand new paint job that drilling holes into is unfathomable or high traffic areas where you don't want your panels to be touched or knocked into by people etc. Adding acoustic ceiling baffles is an ideal solution for any space where acoustic treatment is needed, but installing them on a wall is not practical.

2. MORE ABSORPTION IS REQUIRED THAN WHAT CAN BE INSTALLED ONTO WALLS

Sometimes, installing acoustical panels to the wall surfaces only doesn't provide adequate absorption to reach a desired acoustic environment. Some reasons for this include not having enough available wall space for acoustic treatments, hardwood or concrete floors that create standing reflections or high ceilings causing excess reverberation. Installing ceiling cloud panels is an ideal solution to make up for this. If a room is very large and/or has very high ceilingthis can be a recipe for echoes and long sound decay times. Sometimes this is desired, think When The Levee Breaks - Led Zeppelin. Often times, a cleaner "dryer" recording room is sought instead. This will allow the mixing/mastering engineer to then add & control reverberations & effects simulated in a DAW or recording software.

3. SPOT ISOLATION IS DESIRED FOR MIXING OR RECORDING

Placing acoustic cloud panels over a mixing area or tracking area in a recording room/recording studio is common place in the recording industry. And with good reason... There is not other environment where the demands of room acoustics are as important as a recording studio or mixing room. Often times, adding acoustical treatments to the ceiling in a room can be extremely beneficial in helping achieve a balanced frequency response within the room. Since sound reacts to every and all surfaces in a room - it is imperative that the ceiling is taken into consideration when installing and planning the acoustical treatments for your mixing/studio space. In live rooms, spot isolation can be achieved wherever an acoustic cloud panel is placed. This helps in large live rooms scenerioes by allowing increased isolation where the ceiling baffle is placed. In small studios spaces these can be beneficial by absorbing & controlling first order reflections caused by the ceiling. These reflections can create "muddiness" and/or "slap back" delays (also known as the dreaded "flutter echo") in your recordings. Ceiling cloud panels can be used over drummers to help control reflections from the cymbals and hi-hats, they can be used over vocalists to help with achieving cleaner more isolated sounding vocal recordings or placed over acoustic instruments (ex. brass, strings, guitars) to help achieve a more balanced clear recording organically. In conclusion, this can be tremendously helpful in the mixing process as not as much subtractive EQ will be needed since your room now already has more balanced frequency response to begin with!

If you have any questions about how our Ceiling Baffles can help you achieve the best acoustical environment for your room - or if you are interested in a customization inquiry please feel free to contact us.

wi-fi connectivity appears to be fixed! Yay!
Style: WF-7840, Set: DUAL TRAY (500 sheets)/FAX/ADF/PRINT/COPY/SCAN
Updated: Connectivity has only failed once out of may prints! Yay! 5 stars if this keeps up! LEAVE THE FIRMWARE ALONE NOW! Updated again: This latest firmware update is an improvement. Up to 4 stars now: The printer has worked 2 times out of the last 3 prints. That is better than never working. Killing the Epson task and unplugging/plugging the printer is still the fasted way to fix when connectivity fails. Updated again: Every frequent firmware update makes the connectivity WORSE. Now the printer FAILS TO CONNECT EVERY TIME I PRINT. Right now the printer is installing yet another update. The notification says the firmware update is under SETTINGS. Yes, true, but 4 layers down so I end up searching and scrolling back an forth with every update. Why is it that the most used features are buried in the menus. Coder's revenge, I guess. The connection fails, the connection fixer thing asks a bunch of stupid questions and won't go away. Is the printer on? Did you change your router? Then is fails and suggests trying more stupid stuff. It should say: Use Task Manager to kill the running Epson task. Unplug the printer, then plug it back in. In 5 minutes, you will have your print. How convenient. EVERY TIME I PRINT. I expect this or the next FW update will kill even that. This is a beautiful mechanical machine with idiotic electronics and firmware/software. Updated review: This printer forgets who and where it is about once a week. The printer is only 6 feet from the Wi-Fi router. I have to run the Connection Checker program, answer irrelevant questions, reset the router, blah, blah, blah - the robot version of a customer support call. Make sure you also have an HP or Brother printer in case you need something printed right away when it hangs up. You will end up with an extra copy once the Epson wakes up. This is getting old. My HP printer never does this. My two Brother printers never do this. Epson finally came out with a mechanical masterpiece that always feeds and never jams. Now Epson needs to work on their interface design. I never thought Epson Connection Checker would be on my most-used software list. ---------- Original review: I really like this printer. I am not a photographer and I don't print t-shirts. The WF-7840 prints fast and feeds paper without jamming. That is more than I can say about the Artisan 1430 as a general purpose printer. This is a big printer, but if you have room for it, it is a very nice machine. It does so much that you will need the help file to do much of anything, but it will be there somewhere. I printed all of June, July, and August and part of September on the starter ink cartridges. I only use it for color prints. I have 3 laser printers for B&W prints. The WF-7840 only has ink 4 cartridges instead of 6 like the 1430. I am very happy with my purchase.

Jobsite Workhorse
Style: WF-7840, Set: DUAL TRAY (500 sheets)/FAX/ADF/PRINT/COPY/SCAN
Have had previous models of this printer and they have always been solid. We use them in our office trailers on our construction jobsites and this new version works excellent just as the previous series did.

Excellent, as long as you don't update firmware
Style: WF-7840, Set: DUAL TRAY (500 sheets)/FAX/ADF/PRINT/COPY/SCAN
About 6 months in, and I am very happy with the performance of this printer. I loved that it collated multipage documents without being told to! I have denied every request for firmware updates, and I am pleased to report that remanufactured ink cartridges (pronounced "more affordable and just as good") work just fine. DO NOT UPDATE THE FIRMWARE. The updates only serve to make it impossible to use off-brand or remanufactured ink cartridges.
