Beside it, a white hydrangea opens generously with that natural droop and petal variation that makes ours so hard to distinguish from fresh. Together, they carry the visual weight of the arrangement and set the palette.
Blue nigella sprays appear throughout, their fine, feathery foliage creating an airy, cottage-garden texture. Small blue sweet peas add gentle colour without competing, sitting lightly among the greens on flexible stems. Green hypericum berries bring structure with their glossy, clustered buds, and a green skimmia head fills the centre with dense, garden-fresh fullness.
The height comes from foxtail grass, which rises above the blooms with soft, cream-coloured seed heads and a natural sway. A willow branch arcs out from one side with dark, bark-textured stems that give the whole piece genuine architectural reach. Seeded willow eucalyptus, pittosporum and rich salal leaf foliage fill the base with enough variety in tone and shape to keep it grounded and convincing.
At 100cm tall and 90cm wide, this is a statement piece. It suits a hallway console, dining table or living room side table where it has space to breathe.
