Television Personalities unreleased album. Recorded in 1990 by Jowe at his flat in Glading Terrace, Stoke Newington (shortly before it was demolished), over a number sessions on a portable 4-track cassette-tape machine. Over the course of a few weeks, we had amassed fifteen tracks, some of which ended up being re-recorded with very different arrangements on Closer to God. The intention was to finish and release these tracks at some point, and that time has finally arrived Jowe Head Of the previously unheard songs, I Like That in a Girl was based on a conversation Daniel Treacy had with Lawrence of the Birmingham band Felt, hence the peculiar accent that Dan uses towards the end! Love is a Four-Letter Word was a song the band would play regularly live; it eventually evolved into Love is Better Than War. I Suppose You Think It's Funny displays Jowe and Daniels double-falsetto skills. If You Fly Too High was based on an encounter with Evan Dando of The Lemonheads in Berlin during a memorable gig with them at the Ecstasy Madhouse in December 1989, when the Berlin Wall was being torn down. The band jammed with Evan on stage that night, playing some tunes by Jonathan Richman and Johnny Thunders. The song also mentions Alan McGee, who was a great fan of the TVPS. Alan openly admits that he emulated Dans style of music, and influenced his decision to run a mod-psychedelic club, The Living Room, and to start his label, Creation.

Decent shelf but could be improved upon

Not bad but could be a little more sturdy. We used longer and a little larger screws to try to make it better and that did help but it still has a little wobble in it. It will serve the purpose for me in my bathroom. They look nice except it would be nice if they would include some of those little covers to go over the screws in the bottom of the shelf so you wouldn’t see them. They really show up on the white shelves.

Really Nice Shelves BUT....

I do like these shelves, they look great for cheaper low end particle board made to look like wood. However I took off stars because they made installation unnecessarily hard. I'll explain....
If you look in my picture the mounting bracket has plenty of options/slots to use.
AND in the instructions they clearly show you how to find studs to properly mount the brackets. Meaning the manufacturer know stud distance. They even show in the instructions that studs are clesrly 16" apart!
Now get this, the mounting brackets are plenty long enough (roughly 22" without measuring) to mount on two studs 16" apart so the shelves are mounted in wood which is stronger and superior mounting instead of drywall.
HOWEVER, THE SLOTTED HOLES ON THE MOUNTING BRACKET ARE NOT 16" APART. None of them. There's tons of slotted holes to use on the bracket and zero of them are 16" apart.
Now if I want to mount screws jn 2 studs I have to drill in the mounting bracket to make a new hole. Taking up extra time, messing with the integrity of the mounting steel.
I don't understand. It's almost like they did this on purpose.
What should have been a 10-15 minute install turned into getting proper drill bits, drilling metal, and taking 45-50 minutes to do it properly.
It just put a sour taste in my mouth and that is my reasoning for the 3 of 5 starts. I would make it 3.5 stars if it was an option. Otherwise the shelves look pretty decent for low end shelving.
I recommend them only if you're handy with a drill and tape measure. If you can handle drilling the mount bracket to go into a stud, go ahead and grab these.

Lengthy Shelves

I love these shelves! I specifically wanted shelves that were very long and that would, when put together, span the length of my room. These fit the bill!
Quality: I was very worried about finding something that would hold up a good amount of weight, knowing I wanted to books on these shelves above my head! And I also wanted something with a nice texture that would be easily whipped down for dust. Both these points were covered.
I have hade these shelves for several months now and they have successfully held ip a decent bit of weight, is a true black cooler with wood grain detail, and has not faded in color with dusted and whipped down to be cleaned.
These are great quality and with the price!
