The pickup itself is fashioned with active circuitry and neodymium magnets, providing both picking accuracy as well as warmth.
The pickup runs off of two included, miniature batteries that are easily replaceable, as they're mounted on the underside of the pickup. The low-current preamp design can give you up to 240 hours of play-time before you'd ever need to swap out a battery. The pickup sports a volume control wheel, and everything you'd need to mount the pickup is part of the design.
