NATIONAL BESTSELLER

For readers of All Things Consoled by Elizabeth Hay and They Left Us Everything by Plum Johnson, Kiss the Red Stairs is a compelling memoir by award-winning journalist Marsha Lederman delves into her parents’ Holocaust stories in the wake of her own divorce, investigating how trauma migrates through generations with empathy, humour, and resilience.

With compelling Holocaust stories, deep research into trauma theory, and a powerful personal narrative about family and motherhood, the book brings together subjects readers are fascinated by with humour, empathy and raw emotion.

Marsha was five when a simple question led to a horrifying answer. Sitting in her kitchen, she asked her mother why she didn’t have any grandparents. Her mother told her the truth: the Holocaust.

Decades later, her parents dead and herself a mother to a young son, Marsha begins to wonder how much history has shaped her own life. Reeling in the wake of a divorce, she craves her parents’ help. But in their absence, she is gripped by a need to understand the trauma they suffered, and she begins her own journey into the past to tell her family’s stories of loss and resilience.

Kiss the Red Stairs is a compelling memoir of Holocaust survival, intergenerational trauma, divorce, and discovery that will guide readers through several lifetimes of monumental change.

A hydrating sunscreen but won’t provide the coverage
I’ve been using CeraVe sunscreen, so that’s my baseline. It’s thicker, slightly pigmented, and very hydrating.. Switching to Eucerin felt like moving from a cozy blanket to a light sheet. It’s definitely thinner and less pigmented, so at first it didn’t give me that same immediate glow or coverage I was used to. That said, on its own, it’s still a good sunscreen. It spreads easily, feels comfortable, and does the job without heaviness. After using it for a while, I’ve kind of settled into a rhythm: • If I want a bit of coverage and that hydrated, supple finish → I reach for CeraVe • If I just need straightforward sun protection → Eucerin works perfectly fine One small downside is the packaging. The pump is convenient, but toward the end, I can already tell there’ll be product left that’s hard to get out since you can’t really squeeze or open it easily. Overall, I’d say Eucerin is a solid, lightweight sunscreen. Just don’t expect that tinted, slightly “makeup-like” effect if you’re coming from something like CeraVe. It’s more of a quiet, reliable everyday option than a multitasking one.

Ok for sunscreen
Works fine as sunscreen. Did make me look a little red but might be a reaction as I have very sensitive skin. Didn't notice any color change so basically it's just sunscreen.

Great sunscreen that feels light on skin
Great sunscreen that matches my skin tone and is very light. Its not makeup and also doesn't leave any white sunscreen residue. I can have sensitive skin when it comes to sunscreen and this is very gentle on my skin. Highly recommend!
