  • License Type: OEM License (vendor-provided by Lenovo for resale and deployment within authorized environments).
  • Named Users Covered: 100 named users (per license allocation).
  • Delivery Method: OEM license package (license key or entitlement as defined by Lenovo’s OEM terms).

how to install Lenovo VMware Horizon v. 8.0 Enterprise Edition - License - 100 Named User

  • Plan and prerequisites: Confirm compatibility with your virtualization infrastructure (VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter), ensure sufficient CPU, memory, and storage for the intended desktop and application delivery, and verify network readiness for Horizon components and client connections.
  • Obtain and validate licenses: Acquire the 100 named-user Horizon license through Lenovo’s OEM program. Validate the license entitlements and ensure you have access to the Horizon Console for management.
  • Prepare the Horizon environment: Deploy or confirm the Horizon components required for Horizon 8.0 Enterprise (such as the Horizon Connection Server or Horizon Cloud if applicable) and establish a connection to your vCenter/ESXi resources. Configure Identity and access controls to support secure user sign-in.
  • Create base images and pools: Build standardized VM images with the required operating system and applications. Use image management and application delivery features to package and manage apps, then create desktop pools or published app pools aligned with your 100 named-user allocation.
  • License and policy configuration: Apply the Lenovo/OEM Horizon license to the environment, configure user entitlements for the 100 named users, and establish security policies, access controls, and resource limits. Set up monitoring, alerts, and backup plans to protect virtual resources.
  • Client access and validation: Install Horizon Client on end-user devices, or enable browser-based/HTML access if available. Validate that users can sign in, display pipelines load correctly, and performance meets expectations across locations and WAN conditions.
  • Security hardening and ongoing management: Implement MFA where supported, enable encryption at rest and in transit, and configure role-based access to minimize exposure. Establish regular patching, updates, and image refresh cycles to maintain security posture.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does the 100 Named User license cover? It covers 100 individual users who are assigned access to virtual desktops and hosted applications delivered through VMware Horizon 8.0 Enterprise Edition. Each named user can log in and use the assigned desktops or apps as defined by your policy. The license is managed within the Horizon environment and is tied to user identities rather than devices alone.
  • Is Lenovo required for deployment? This is an OEM license packaged by Lenovo, so procurement and support come through Lenovo as the original equipment manufacturer. The Horizon environment itself remains VMware-based, and compatibility with Lenovo hardware can help streamline deployment, warranty coverage, and vendor support.
  • What platforms are supported? Horizon 8.0 Enterprise typically integrates with VMware vSphere/ESXi for hosting virtual desktops and with Horizon components for desktop and application delivery. Ensure your data center meets VMware’s requirements for Horizon 8.0 and your license terms cover the intended environment.
  • Can this license be expanded if I add more users? Yes. Horizon licenses are scalable; you can add more named-user licenses or upgrade to a higher edition if your organization’s needs grow. Coordinate with Lenovo and VMware to ensure licensing remains compliant and properly activated.
  • What kind of support is included? OEM licenses typically come with Lenovo’s support for licensing and hardware integration, plus VMware support for Horizon features. Check the specific terms of your OEM package for service levels, updates, and renewal options.
  • Do I need to use Lenovo hardware? While Lenovo OEM licensing is designed to align with Lenovo hardware, you should verify with Lenovo whether the license terms require Lenovo devices for optimal performance or eligibility. In many cases, Horizon licenses can operate in standard VMware environments with properly licensed servers and clients.
  • How does this help with security and compliance? Horizon 8.0 Enterprise enables centralized policy enforcement, secure authentication, and controlled access to desktops and apps. By centralizing image management and access controls, organizations can strengthen data protection, enforce consistent security baselines, and simplify compliance reporting.

An absolutely important read.
Format: Paperback
I bought this book on a recommendation. I loved it. It is easy to read, explains itself well, and is very informative. It always gives scripture to back it up. I have read the Bible and continue to do so, but this book explains a lot of things and also refers to actual history to and current events. It was written in 1999, but proves itself to be very important in the year we live in today. I recommend this book to anyone who is a Christian, wants to be a Christian, or even people who don't know what they believe. The author of this book has made me a fan of his writings. If you decide to read this book, you won't regret it.

Important read but a little difficult to understand
Format: Hardcover
The beginning is a well written history on the background of what is happening in Revelations, how and why Revalations came about, and what will occur in the ends times. Lots of prophecy, (which I love to read about) but I am finding it difficult to understand. I am a fast reader, so maybe for someone else, who reads slowly and with intention, they may understand it better. I guess I was hoping for a little easier read and right to the point. This could be my problem and not the book! David Jeremiah is a wonderful pastor and his teachings are always relatable and easy to understand so as I write this, I think it's the reader's problem, not the writer :)

I wish we will all be ready
Format: Kindle
It's a wonderful book it helped me to learn so much that I didn't know before as Dr. David Jeremiah would say it's good to read books like this one ,but we must remember to be into The Book every day , The word of God, The Holy Bible. This book (The Book Of. Signs) Is one of those books you want to keep reading like a good bag of Potato Chips you can't stop eating them.
