D’Angelico’s top-of-the-line Deluxe series features only the best tonewoods: a resonant alder body, a rigid 3-piece maple/walnut neck, and a smooth ebony fingerboard make up this guitar’s construction. The D’Angelico Deluxe Bedford comes loaded with a set of stacked STK P-90 pickups. Double P-90s represent one of the most classic guitar configurations in history, capable of both the pristinely warm cleans and biting treble tones that defined the early days of rock 'n' roll, blues, and jazz guitar. What's more, Seymour Duncan's stacked construction provides a completely hum-free experience when using the STK P-90s — even in high-gain applications!
Playing the Deluxe Bedford is sheer delight. Its 3-piece maple-walnut neck boasts a comfortable "C" profile, and its satin finish supplies the perfect blend of grip and ease of movement. Its 14-inch-radius ebony fingerboard features medium-vintage nickel silver frets to facilitate comfortable chording and technically demanding lead work. The instrument’s easy hand feel is a byproduct of its 24.75-inch scale length, which makes bends and vibrato feel effortless. For rock-solid tuning stability, the Deluxe SS is equipped with Grover Super Rotomatic Locking 14:1 tuners, while a GraphTech TUSQ nut bolsters sustain and eliminates string binding.
