Produced at Musicland Studios in Munich, it introduced the now-iconic ELO logo by Kosh, which would go on to feature on most of their later releases.
The album became ELO’s first top ten UK album and achieved multi-platinum status in both the US and UK, selling five million copies worldwide within its first year. Four singles from the album found chart success: “Livin' Thing,” the transatlantic hit “Telephone Line,” the UK top ten track “Rockaria!” and “Do Ya,” a cover of The Move’s 1972 single.
