It is a sturdy metal case, with four metal feet on the base side of the case opposite the handle, to keep the unit off the floor and away from the dirt and dust. The shoulder carry strap allows for hands free carrying and has a wide shoulder pad so it remains securely in place, but if you prefer to carry the suitcase style case in the hand, then it has a sturdy, plastic handle which is comfortable to use.

The lid has non-pluckable foam, but can be removed if not required, giving extra room at the top of the case and because it is designed with 'peaks and troughs' it gives great top protection to the base. All the corners of the case have additional metal protection and the middle of the short side of the base and lid, also have extra metal tabs.
