He describes Stephanie as a ‘fabulous transexual’ who lived on Brighton’s Dyke Road in the 1970s. Stephanie was a mysterious yet ‘matter of fact’ person, a living contradiction, much like Boy George himself. She would take George dancing and opened his eyes to a world beyond his imagination. Describing Stephanie as one of his heroes, he depicts her with linear strokes of acrylic, wire, and beads in this piece.
