The beige 6066 CORE from DPA is a subminiature, lightweight omnidirectional headset microphone with an advanced, fully adjustable, stainless steel headset mechanism. The barely noticeable, dual-ear design offers a very comfortable wearing experience for presenters and performers while the tiny 3mm mic capsule provides broadcast-quality sound up to the demanding standards of theater, TV, and live-event professionals.
The 6066 fits the wearer by using 3-point ear grips with spring mechanisms that grip comfortably above and below the ears and to the side of the head for added security. The 2-way adjustable boom system—length and height—features an anti-rotate mechanism that makes it easy to position the diminutive mic capsule for optimal sound quality. A sliding lock mechanism secures the boom positioning. In addition, the 90° cable management system safeguards the cable from stress and directs it down the wearer's back, where it can't be seen.
DPA's CORE technology is at the heart of the electret-condenser capsule, providing an ultralow noise floor and wide dynamic range, even though this capsule is 60% smaller than comparable DPA models. The 6066 is powered by 5 to 10V plug-in power from a wireless microphone transmitter and features a modular design using a MicroLock output connector with adapters for wireless bodypack available separately.
Modular System Featuring MicroLock Connector
The 6066 will work with a wide variety of wireless transmitters via separately available adapters. Simply choose the MicroLock adapter with the appropriate connector for your bodypack transmitter and you're good to go.
MicroLock is fully backwards compatible with the MicroDot connection; MicroLock parts can be assembled with MicroDot parts and function as if they were of the MicroDot type. Please note that the locking function is only available if both the male and female parts are MicroLock.
Broadcast-Quality Sound from a Tiny Mic Capsule
The 6066 headset shrinks DPA CORE technology down to a subminiature 3mm capsule that still provides an extremely low noise floor and a wide dynamic range for outstanding sound quality.
The mic capsule's omnidirectional pickup pattern captures audio from all around the microphone and delivers consistently excellent sound quality, whether the boom is worn on the right or left side. The capsule is designed to accommodate standard presenters and performers and can handle 125 dB SPL RMS and 128 dB SPL peak with less than 1% distortion. It can even tolerate loud speakers and vocalists at SPL levels up to 144 dB peak with only 10% distortion, allowing it to accommodate a wide range of talent.
The one-size-fits-all dual-ear headset fits a wide variety of head sizes securely and comfortably with a unique 3-point gripping system with secure contact points above, below, and behind the ear. The 6066 also features a 2-way adjustable, non-reflective boom that locks into place. In addition, 90° cable management is provided to guide the cable and minimize cable breaks.
IP58-certified for dust and moisture resistance, the 6066 features a water-repellant Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) nano-coating on the cover and housing protects from elements yet allows the mic and cable to stay extremely thin. Hermetic sealing protects the sensitive amplifier at the core of the mic.
