Quality

Quality is the reason for PCT's success, because they control the manufacturing process, with this comes superior products. The design team continually advance the design of towbars and towing electrics allowing as little modification to the towing vehicle as possible.

Advanced Coating

PCT Towbar systems now have one of the most advanced coatings within the UK. The procedure first begins with a high intensity shot peening which cleans any substance from the raw material followed by an Iron phosphate pre-treatment then finally an e-coating which provides exceptional anti-corrosion protection.

The high performance coating was originally developed to meet stringent automotive anti-corrosion standards for vehicle under bodies, giving a salt spray life up to 1,000 hours; the technology is applied onto their Towbar systems.

The electrophoretic e-coat plant applies the paint finish to very tight coating tolerances. A unique feature is the use of High Edge paint to ensure uniform coverage around sharp corners and profile edges.

European Type Approved

Products are European Type Approved for your peace of mind and fit to the official vehicle manufacturer's mounting points. Products are only granted European Type Approval by a registered government engineer following an on-site fatigue test, ensuring structural compliance, longevity and safety.

Detachable Neck

Compliment the vehicle's cosmetics allowing in most cases an invisible fitment, easy to detach and compatible with current caravan hitch stabiliser systems. 1 star because it does exactly what's advertised if you scrutinize the listing, but what it does is so mind numbingly stupid nobody would assume it's this poor of a product. It comes with a stand alone power input, but to use it properly you need an additional USBC power supply to feed into it, and oh yeah also most of the USBC ports deliver low power, and the USBA ports deliver no power. This is like a weird peripheral stuck in a time warp torn between 1998 and the modern day. Nobody is asking for this and the subtlety of how dumb this design is is reflected by the "Frequently returned item" disclaimer. Whoever product managed this needs to rethink their career

If you only need to connect peripherals like an external drive to your computer or tablet and provide power to the peripheral devices, then this hub should work for you. Please note that it WILL NOT provide pass-through power to your computer or tablet without adding an additional power source. Read on if you feel this may apply to you. I purchased this Anker hub for the very specific purpose of connecting my DSLR camera to the Cascable App on my 4th generation iPad Air. This allows my clients to preview their portraits on a larger screen during a photoshoot. My hope was, that out of the box, the hub would connect my camera and iPad (which it did) as well as charge my iPad throughout an entire day of work. Unfortunately the product description provided by Anker does not clearly state that pass-through power to your laptop or tablet is only possible by connecting an additional power supply to the PD in port (USB-C) which is located next to the DC power port that connects to the included power supply. It's by no means an elegant solution, but it gets the job done. UPDATE: this is now addressed by amazon in the "About this item" section. Fortunately I had a spare 65W USB power adapter that I was able to connect to the PD port and get power to my iPad. If not I would have to buy that additional piece of equipment to make this work for my needs. My thanks to others who have taken the time to mention this in their reviews - saving me the frustration of sending this back.
