Vinyl LP pressing. Composed and performed by Piero Milesi and Daniel Bacalov on piano, samplers, percussion, electronics and synthesizers. Originally released only on CD in 1988, La Camera Astratta, is a 'video opera' and the music to an installation, Documenta 8, which was a collaboration between the two composers and Studio Azzuro, all of whom were based in and heavily involved with Milan's cutting edge avant-garde. Finally released on vinyl on it's 30th anniversary thanks to the co-operation between Soave Records (Italy) and Cuneiform Records, only 80 copies are available for the USA market!

Finally made Homer click for me

I’ve tried reading The Iliad and The Odyssey before but always got lost in the language. This translation is clear and smooth while keeping the epic feel of the stories. It helped me actually enjoy the characters and battles without feeling like I was stuck in a high school assignment. It’s made these classics feel alive and human, and I’m glad I gave it another try with this version.

Epic tales that still resonate

I dove into Dawson’s twin translation of The Iliad and The Odyssey hoping for clarity—and instead found myself struck by their emotional pull. Achilles’ fury, Hector’s honor, Odysseus’ longing for home—it all felt immediate and real. Dawson’s language flows so naturally, I forgot I was reading an ancient text. There were moments I stopped and sighed, moved by how these characters still speak to our hearts today.

Timeless adventure, beautifully retold

Feels like sitting around a fire
