The artist is known for featuring small figures at the heart of each painting, emphasising the grandeur and magnitude of the landscape.

With a focus on building a strong sense of atmosphere, Coulson experiments with the way he captures light. Whether it’s bright, warm and uplifting, or dark, brooding and stormy, the artist creates an interplay of light using stronger, warmer palettes that envelop us in the feeling of the piece. Coulson injects a strong sense of mood and atmosphere into this collection, capturing the feeling of landscapes from the countryside to the sea.
