Designed to convert 12 VDC battery power to 115 VAC and will automatically pass through AC Inlet power when present. TruePower Plus is rich with features including; Innovative dual color digital LCD message center, dual color gauges for AC power output and battery DC input, USB power port, GFCI convenience outlets, DC cable covers, and separate on/off remote. Our integrated AC cable strain reliefs and front screw connection terminal blocks allow for quick and easy installation without the added need for ring terminals for AC power connections. Designed with soft start noise filtered technology and x2 surge capability for powering demanding loads. The temperature is adjustable so you can keep your drink at your desired temperature. The top is glass and wipes clean easily. I like the rubber gasket that fits on top of the warmer. It keeps your mug in the center of the warmer and should you have a spill it catches the liquid. I've been using it every day for over a month now and it's going strong and is reliable. Requires a very specific mug to be useful.

The hotplate itself gets hot enough on its highest setting where it would burn your finger if you left it one there for more then a couple seconds. However when it come to what mug you can use to transfer that heat to your drink, this WILL NOT work with just any old ceramic, metal or glass mugs. You absolutely need to have a perfectly flat bottom on it. If the center of the bottom of the mug does not make direct contact with the very center of the warmer, it will not transfer heat. So straight way plan of spending another $15 to $20. Amazon has some available with good reviews all be it not a very big selection. I'm giving this 4 stars because the description needs to be very clear about this and its not.
