New Era. New Performance. The Transcend SSD220Q is a 2.5" SATA SSD designed to deliver a balance of capacity, speed, and value for everyday computing. Built on the latest QLC NAND technology, this drive packs a full terabyte of storage into a compact, 2.5" form factor and uses enhanced firmware to optimize data management, delivering faster boot times, snappier application launches, and smoother multitasking. Whether you’re upgrading an aging system, building a fast laptop setup, or expanding a game library, the Transcend 220Q brings premium performance to a broad range of workloads with a quiet, power-efficient operation.

  • High-density storage with QLC NAND: The 1 TB capacity leverages Quad-Level Cell (QLC) flash to maximize storage density per die, offering ample space for your operating system, applications, games, and media. Coupled with intelligent firmware, this design aims to provide strong real-world performance and cost-effective capacity for everyday use.

QLC-based drives like the 220Q are engineered to handle typical consumer workloads—booting Windows or macOS, loading apps, and streaming media—with responsive access times while keeping the price-per-gigabyte attractive.

  • 2.5" internal form factor with SATA III (SATA/600): The standard 2.5-inch drive size makes upgrading a wide range of desktops and laptops straightforward. The SATA III interface (6 Gb/s) provides broad compatibility and reliable connection speeds, allowing the drive to slot into existing bays and Power/SATA lines without special adapters.

Designed for easy installation and broad system compatibility, the 220Q pairs well with mainstream PCs, laptops, and DIY builds that rely on a conventional SATA interface for fast, consistent storage performance.

  • Enhanced firmware for consistent performance: The SSD220Q lineup uses firmware algorithms optimized for wear leveling, garbage collection, and data management to sustain solid performance across typical workloads. This firmware-aware approach helps maintain responsiveness during long sessions of multitasking, file transfers, and game loading—minimizing slowdowns that can occur on some other consumer drives.

With thoughtful optimization, the 220Q aims to deliver reliable, everyday performance that users can depend on for work, study, and play.

  • Quiet operation with low power draw: As a solid-state drive, the 220Q operates without moving parts, producing virtually no noise and generating less heat than many traditional hard drives. This makes it an appealing upgrade for laptops and desktops seeking a quieter, cooler, and more energy-efficient storage solution, especially for sleep-and-wake cycles and prolonged laptop use.

Low power consumption helps extend battery life in mobile devices and contributes to overall system efficiency, supporting a smoother user experience during long sessions of work or entertainment.

  • Versatile performance for OS, software, and media: The 1 TB capacity and fast access to data make the 220Q well-suited as a primary OS drive, a rapid application and game library, or a high-capacity data disk for photos, videos, and documents. Its combination of capacity, efficiency, and responsiveness helps reduce boot times and optimize daily workflows, enabling quicker launches and smoother multitasking across a range of software and content.

Whether you’re building a new system or upgrading an existing one, the Transcend 220Q delivers a practical balance of speed, capacity, and value for modern computing needs.

How to install Transcend 220Q

  • Power down and prepare your system. Turn off your computer or laptop, unplug the power, and disconnect any peripherals. Open the case or access panel to reach the drive bay.

For laptops, you may need to remove the back panel or the existing drive caddy to access the 2.5" slot.

  • Mount and connect the drive. Secure the Transcend 220Q in a 2.5" drive bay using screws or an appropriate caddy. Connect a SATA data cable to the motherboard and a SATA power connector from the power supply, ensuring solid, stable connections.

  • Set up the drive in your OS. If replacing an existing drive, you can clone your OS and applications beforehand or perform a fresh OS installation after mounting the drive. If using as additional storage, format the new drive in your operating system’s disk management utility.

  • Configure and optimize. After installation, enter the BIOS/UEFI to confirm the SSD is detected, then boot into your OS. Enable TRIM if it isn’t already active, and run any available firmware or driver updates to maximize compatibility and longevity.

  • Enjoy faster performance. Start up, load programs, and access data more quickly with your new 2.5" SATA SSD. Regular backups and system maintenance will help keep the drive running smoothly for years to come.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: Is this drive compatible with desktops and laptops that have a 2.5" SATA slot? A: Yes. The Transcend 220Q is a standard 2.5" SATA SSD designed for broad compatibility with systems featuring a SATA drive bay and SATA III interface.

  • Q: What does QLC NAND mean for performance and longevity? A: QLC NAND offers higher storage density per die, enabling larger capacities at a lower cost. With Transcend’s firmware optimization, it provides reliable everyday performance for OS, apps, and media workloads, while typical wear and endurance considerations apply as with all SSDs.

  • Q: Should I clone my OS or perform a fresh installation when upgrading? A: Cloning is a convenient option if you want to preserve your current OS, settings, and applications. A fresh OS installation can provide a clean start and optimal performance if you prefer to configure from scratch.

  • Q: How can I maximize the drive’s lifespan? A: Enable TRIM in your operating system, avoid filling the drive completely, keep firmware updated, and perform regular backups. Monitoring SMART attributes can also help you track health over time.

It's awesome for a budget product!
Size: 27Inch
I originally got a name brand widescreen monitor, but it was so ridiculously heavy that I returned it the same day it was delivered. I was back in the market for another one, but I figured it would be better to just go for a more budget option. I'm glad I did; this CRUA monitor is lighter in weight (so I don't have any fears that my motorized standing desk will collapse). The clarity on the screen is not the highest of high quality, but I didn't need that. I mostly use this when I work from home and need more screen space to work on multiple programs/files at once. The playback of videos and movies is pretty passable - you're not going to get the highest, pore-defining clarity with this, but again - it's a budget option so don't expect that. The only minor negative I have with this is that there are not enough ports, so you can't connect a USB mouse, earphones, or webcam to this, but I got an extender so it's fine. I was able to balance an external USB webcam on the top of this monitor. You cannot adjust the screen height, but adjusting the angle is possible. Haven't had any issues connecting the display to my work laptop via HDMI. The speakers - when I use them - are pretty good for the price.

Good Monitors, Limited Hook Up Functionality
Size: 27Inch
Good monitors. Crisp, clear, and responsive. Only issue is they didn’t see to be high enough quality to connect to our new HP docking station so we could connect the two monitors to our laptop. The screens constantly flashed so we had to return the HP docking station and buy some sort of hundred dollar apparatus from Best Buy in order to support the dual monitor display. They also couldn’t be “recognized” by my work laptop for whatever reason which was really unfortunate because I’m now unable to work downstairs in our new office with these monitors.

Very good looking monitor, I can handle two laptops
Style: 34" WQHD Curved 100Hz USB-C Docking
This has worked fantastic for me. This doesn't have all the huge bells and whistles but right now I have two laptops hooked up to it I'm using a display port when using the USBC, and I have a whole bunch of other things plugged into both laptop USB chords like cameras Bluetooth adapters chargers memory and a mouse and amazingly I can use them both seamlessly I can switch to monitor between inputs and then my mouse and keyboard will work with whichever computer I'm using at the time. In fact just the other day I accidentally have had a window open from one laptop that took up half the screen and then I had the other laptop open with another with the other window and it was kind of slow but it still managed to work pretty well with that one extra window from one laptop and then the other two and the mouse would seamlessly move between them keyboard worked in both of them. This is been a good investment

Perfect office/work USBC monitor with (finally) enough USB ports for your mouse, keyboard, webcam.
Style: 34" WQHD Curved 100Hz USB-C Docking
This is an office monitor NOT a gaming monitor. If you understand that you will be very happy. I spent absolute ages looking for a USB-C/Thunderbolt 4 ultrawide monitor for work that has a built in USB hub. There is nothing more convenient than just plugging a laptop into a USB-C and getting power and all peripherals connected. Gamers will tell you to get a KVM and dock and all kinds of other stuff and they're not wrong but when you're working a 9-5 in tech simplicity and convenience are king. There are a lot of good options for ultrawides from LG and other brands that do this, but for some insane reason they only have two USB ports in their built-in hub. I need ports for my mouse, keyboard, webcam, potentially usb dongle headset. Need 4 ports. This is literally the only option with more than 2 ports for under $800. And it's waaay under $800. And it's great. It has auto dimming which is wonderful and the stronger curve of the monitor is fantastic for being a medium distance away. The 100hz is just icing . Is it as good as 144hz? nah. But for productivity work it's really really good. Everything you need and then some. It has kind of adjustable height with the stand. You can choose between three heights. So no adjustment on the fly. But that's alright. So - if you're looking for the best USBC monitor to connect all your stuff to so you can just plug in your work laptop for a budget.. This is it. The negative reviews here so far are people looking for a gaming monitor or someone who doesn't know how to adjust their operating system scaling.

Works with Mac!
Style: 34" WQHD Curved 100Hz USB-C Docking
This monitor is great. I was suprised on how light it was, as I have a large Asus monitor that is very heavy. I am very happy with quality and it works great with a Mac.
