The AT5040 is designed to achieve the utmost purity of sound, featuring a four-part rectangular element that provides an exceptionally large diaphragm without the typical drawbacks. This design includes four matched ultra-thin diaphragms that work together to deliver a combined surface area twice that of a standard one-inch circular diaphragm, resulting in low noise and excellent transient response. The advanced internal shock mounting decouples the capsule from the microphone body for additional isolation, further enhanced by the innovative AT8480 shock mount.
Each AT5040 microphone is hand-assembled and individually inspected for 100% quality control. The microphone is housed in an elegant aluminum and brass body with a high-quality gray finish, ensuring durability and low reflectivity. Every component has been carefully selected to optimize capsule performance and minimize any impact on the audio signal.
