The KD Platinum has been a staple at the top of the KD line for longer than most can remember, but that doesn't mean much of the same. The new age Platinum ushers in a new era of performance in the slalom ski market, offering a true 34-36 mile an hour as opposed to the modern 32-36mph ski, designed specifically to shorten the line on the course. The Platinum aims to change the game through its collaboration with Corey Vaughn, using the Platinum outline from previous iterations to keep the feel consistent and giving you that constant feel you have always got, but now adding more features and altering the edge bevel and sidewall, the Platinum has unlocked a greater potential to increase speed cross-course and get you from buoy to buoy without the feel of potential slippage but have narrowed the tail so you get a lower pivot point in the turns to reduce chances of tail blowouts. All of these features combined with a torsional top deck spine to provide dampening factors, aim at giving you a ski built to perform at the highest level, all while reducing the effort on the body and the need to overadjust and overcorrect as the line gets shorter.
Rocker
- Traditional Flat Spot – Allows to ski to have more control across the wash without the feel of it wanting to kick out under load.
- Continuous Rocker – The tip and tail allow the ski always to provide a constant level of speed across the wash and allow for a smooth, comfortable turn and drive through the wash while still having the ability to keep that speed into your leading edge easily.

- Flex Rating(1=Soft, 10=Stiff) - 10/10
Core
- PVC CNC'd Core - A tried and true core material, cut to utter perfection that has proved itself on the top end ski's for years, a high-quality material that is lighter and stiffer than its PU counterpart creating a greater feel and response in your ski.
Laminates
- 90/10 Carbon/Fibreglass Split - A traditional carbon laminate blended with just a splash of fibreglass, engineered specifically, so you get all that response and zip out of your ski while getting that little hint of flex when you need it, creating tight turns and fast line breaks across the wash. Not to mention it outlasts carbon. Yeah, science b#*@h
Shape
- Torsional Flex Zone Tip Pattern - Creates a dampening effect by reducing the torque placed on the ski when under high load.
- Variable Sidewall Thickness - Lets the ski get across the course smoother and sit higher across the wash to get you from buoy to buoy faster and at greater speed.
- Altered Edge Bevel – A new edge bevel allows for comfort coming into edges without sacrificing the ability to get plenty of angle into turns, making sure at every point of your cut you are comfortable
- Rounder Tail Bevel - A softer bevel in the tail lets the ski roll through the turn with complete smoothness, particularly on your first initiating turn.
- Reduced Tail Width – Allows the ski to have more power on edge and sit lower in the back end of your turn to reduce tail blowouts.
Concave
- Full Edge to Edge Concave in Body and Tail – A full concave throughout the ski's body and tail helps you keep a constant speed and consistency when on edge and coming across the wash.

Nice Coat Not So Great Packaging

Nice coat but packaging needs to be improved. It arrived not properly folded and as a result it was completely wrinkled. Took some work to iron so it looked as advertised. Packaging for such things has to be reviewed.

If you're looking for a comfortable thick and nice turtle neck this is the one. It's nice and form fitting nice weight to it to keep you warm. But not to thick that you cant just wear it on a regular sunny day if you wanted. The design pattern Is also very nice. Can dress it up or down. I bought the black and then immediately bought the rust orange color for my friend once he tried on mine he wanted one immediately so I gifted him one. He loves it. Definitely worth the buy. Excellent quality. I bought a Large 5"11 165lbs
