Unfortunately, the wood rotted and warped on its ocean journey, so he contacted a toy designer to improve the design with an all-metal, enclosed-spring pogo stick, and patented his design.To promote the toy, Hansburg was able to teach the famous Ziegfield's Follies how to pogo. The Follies' pogo antics inspired people everywhere to jump on the trend, creating all kinds of pogo tricks and stunts.
