For very rigid or extremely thick materials such as heavy leather, hard vinyl, or multilayer quilting foam, a magnetic embroidery hoop might not provide enough grip. The MaggieFrame PA889M works best with soft to medium fabrics used on PFAFF creative icon 2 or VIKING DESIGNER EPIC 2 series machines for reliable tension and smooth embroidery without fabric distortion.

When storing, should I keep the top magnet blocks and bottom frames snapped together or stored separately?

You can store the hoop either way. Keeping the magnetic blocks attached to the base frame saves space and protects alignment; separating them prevents accidental attraction of metal accessories. Whichever method you choose, keep the MaggieFrame magnetic embroidery hoop clean and dry to maintain stable magnet strength and frame precision for your next project.

How do you recommend hooping irregularly shaped items like baby bibs?

For irregular items, lightly hoop a stabilizer sheet in the magnetic embroidery frame, then float the bib or item on top. Secure only the main area inside the 6×6″ (150×150 mm) working zone and let straps or uneven parts extend beyond the MaggieFrame hoop. This prevents stretching, keeps edges flat, and delivers accurate stitch placement on PFAFF or VIKING machines.
