Vinilisssimo present a reissue of Kannibal Komix's self-titled release. Changing the original artwork of an album in certain territories was common practice back in the day, but using different band names in different countries is definitely something else. Die Anderen may or may not ring the bell, what about Kannibal Komix or Apocalypse? Well, they are exactly the same artists. They got together in the north of Germany after meeting in a talent show called Beat-Band-Ball in 1966. Jürgen Drews met the members of Chimes Of Freedom, the winning band, and simply asked to join them as lead guitarist. Not long after, the manager renamed the group as Die Anderen and sent them to the recording studio with the great Giorgio Moroder, Ariola's in-house producer at the time, and a whole album was made. This was obviously much earlier than Moroder's Munich Sound days, so there are no traces of Italo disco gimmicks here but good portions of fuzzy guitars instead... In fact, the anthemic Kannibal Komix song "Neurotic Reaction", produced by Moroder in these sessions, deserves to be included on a garage compilation next to classics like "Try It" by The Standells... Maybe this explains why they were spotted at Hamburg's Star Club and picked by some American managers to sign a deal with Colossus Records. Their almost perfect vocal harmonies and soft psych tunes spiced with a pinch of fierce guitars made the band sound very interesting for the US market but the group needed a new name: Kannibal Komix (or Apocalypse in other territories). A second album followed but nothing really happened despite rising high expectations, and the band split by the end of 1969, almost at the same time that their second album hit the shops worldwide. While "Neurotic Reaction" would be a perfect choice for a European "nuggets" compilation, there is much more to this album than just that standout track. "Cosy Rosy" leans towards prog sounds while keeping some solid pop elements that recall the best of the British Invasion, "Elenor" is an almost perfect match between orchestral arrangements and the dramatic voice of band leader Jürgen Drews, resulting in a three minute psych-pop delight... The remaining nine tracks are further top quality examples of classic late '60s sounds, from tender moments to raw energy, always imaginatively arranged and performed. Presented in facsimile gatefold sleeve and pressed on 180 gram vinyl.

Worthless Dog Toy
Color: Blue
Buyer beware! This item is worthless - if I could rate it -5*, I would. It was delivered this morning and was destroyed literally within 10 minutes. The squeaker was punctured and two of the crinkle legs were stripped by my Shichon.

Fun for a few minutes but beware!
Color: Blue&Purple&Orange, Color: Blue&Purple&Orange
I have 3 dogs so looking for multipacks of the same style toy is great so there is less squabbling between who gets what toy.
I have a border collie puppy, a 4 yr old Irish wolfhound cross and a 17 yr old border collie. These toys were loved by each one of my dogs.
The toys are floppy and easy to squeak in the octopus head. So much so that my elderly boy could happily play and make it squeak. He even collected the toys up and took them to his bed!
My puppy ran off bounding through the house squeaking the octopus' head with the tentacle-legs flying everywhere as she ran around, so the entertainment value is pretty high!
My Irish wolfhound loved the crinkling on the tentacles of the octopus and went straight for tearing into the orange toy pulling out the plastic, then pulling out the squeaker. The toy did ok with a game of tuggy (tug-o-war) with him and this toy would have been a great reward during a training session.
The fabric is not very tough so this is not a toy for aggressive chewers. Legs were easily chewed off and unfortunately were ingested by one of my dogs which caused them to vomit repeatedly throughout the night. Same with the squeaker, they are thin, soft plastic. So if your dog is a voracious chewer, give these a miss.
What I liked about these toys:
1. They were reasonably priced for 3 toys
2. These are not small toys! They are great for medium and large dogs.
3. Very fun for the dogs to play with.
4. No stuffing to clean up
What I didn't like:
1. Toys are not durable for tough tuggers.
2. The toys are not reinforced for chewing.
3. Squeaker not strong enough.
The toys just didn't last. There was maybe 15 minutes of play time at most before the chewing and destruction of the toys really got started.
I might buy these again if I can give my puppy better supervision for her chewing these and trying to stop her from ingesting the pieces she is chewing off put I probably won't buy them again. There's too much plastic that can be eaten with the crinkly plastic in the legs.

My puppy's favorite toy
Color: Blue
I have an 9 month old lab. He LOVES these!! By far one of his favorite toys! Since he is a puppy they do not last crazy long. Usually a few weeks, but well worth it. They keep him occupied.. and gives me a 20+ min of fee time!!

Best toy ever
Color: Blue&Purple, Color: Blue&Purple
I have been through many many toys with my 4yo GWP. And she is not gentle with her toys. Normally a plush toy will last about a week before all stuffing is brutally removed and the squeaker is so worn out it resembles a limp noodle. Somehow, this toy has survived the last 3 months- squeaker still squeaking, no holes in the fabric, better yet there’s not stuffing to litter all over my floor for the vacuum to get stuck on! She loves this thing, she flings it around, tugs on it, catches it midair, loses it and finds it. Honestly 10/10. I wish I could buy stock in this toy.
