(What’s the Story) Morning Glory? is the second studio album by English rock band Oasis, released on October 2, 1995, through Creation Records. Produced by Owen Morris and Noel Gallagher, the album marked a shift from the raw, raucous energy of Definitely Maybe toward a more expansive, anthemic sound. Gallagher’s songwriting leaned into towering choruses, sweeping melodies, and balladry, establishing the band’s blueprint for stadium-sized Britpop. It also introduced drummer Alan White, solidifying the lineup that would carry Oasis through their commercial peak.

The album’s success was seismic. It sold a record-breaking 345,000 copies in its first week in the UK and spent ten weeks at number one, while in the United States it climbed to number four on the Billboard 200 and went 4× platinum.
