Many of the most imaginative designs by the world's great jewelry houses and artisans take inspiration from the animal kingdom. From Cartier's iconic panthers to Bulgari's snakes and JAR's butterflies, these spectacular objects dripping with precious stones are akin to wearable art. Beautiful Creatures depicts some of the most spectacular beasts ever transformed into sparkling treasures and accompanies a forthcoming special exhibition in the American Museum of Natural History's Allison and Roberto Mignone Halls of Gems and Minerals.
The 120 pieces featured date from the mid-1800s to the present, representing species from the realms of land, air, and water. Gorgeous studio photography of the jewelry is complemented by images of iconic personalities, including Elizabeth Taylor, Twiggy, and the Duchess of Windsor wearing famous animal-
inspired jewels. Guest curator Marion Fasel relays the stories behind the individual pieces through entertaining anecdotes and reveals the colorful histories and fascinating symbolism of these remarkable creatures in precious gems and metals that intrigue and delight and that we never tire of wearing.

Beautiful rug but smelly when you first unpack it.
Size: 2' x 6' (Sheepskin Pelt Patchwork), Color: Ivory White
Beautiful quality. Deep thick fur. The "patches" are noting more than where 4 or 5 inch splits, one at each end were stitched back together. I wouldn't have even called them patches. They are the same stitching as used to join the two pelts in the middle. The color is a very clean white. Being natural pelt, I was really expecting something a little more blond. I've bought New Zealand sheepskin several times before and I don't doubt this is Aussie or Kiwi sheepskin but I didn't notice this is processed in China before I bought it. Still, the only complaint I had was a strange chemical smell when I unwrapped it. It didn't smell like the tanning chemicals from previous pelts. But it's gone away after 3 weeks so I guess all's good.

This blanket is extremely soft and has a really luxurious feel.
It looks high-end and adds a cozy, finished look to a room. The size is great for a throw—not too small, and big enough to comfortably use for one or even share.
It’s one of those pieces that adds both comfort and a nice decorative touch.

Very Impressive Quality

I don't normally write reviews but my search for a low-cost quality throw for my sofa is finally over, right down to the "dark yellow" color. The quality of this throw is amazing for the price, it's just thick enough and very luxurious looking and feeling. I washed it straight out of the box upon delivery fully expecting an issue so I could return it asap. I used the delicate cycle in cold water, low heat in the drawer and it looks better than when it arrived. I ordered several other throws for $20 or less on Amazon that were too thin or the color was dreadful, but this item was perfect in every way. No shedding so far.
