how to install Cisco 110 CBS110-16PP Ethernet Switch

Setting up your Cisco 110 CBS110-16PP is designed to be intuitive, mirroring the ease of other plug-and-play devices in your office. Start by determining a central location that offers convenient access for both users and IT oversight if needed. Position the switch in a desk-friendly space or mount it in a rack if your office layout calls for a more formal network cabinet. The next steps outline a straightforward path to get your network online and ready for devices that rely on power through Ethernet.

Step 1: Unpack and prepare. Remove the switch from its packaging and inspect for any hardware accessories included with the unit, such as rack-mount ears if you plan to install it in a rack. Keep the power adapter handy if the device requires an external power supply, though many small business switches use an internal power configuration during use sessions.

Step 2: Plan your uplink and device connections. Identify a primary uplink path to your router or modem gateway. This uplink port will connect to your internet edge device to ensure your local network can reach the wider internet. Decide which endpoints—PCs, printers, IP phones, wireless access points, IP cameras—will connect to PoE-enabled ports so you can map power requirements accordingly and avoid overloading the PoE budget.

Step 3: Connect the hardware. Use standard Ethernet cables to connect devices to the CBS110-16PP ports. If you’re powering PoE devices, attach them to the PoE-enabled ports to allow the switch to deliver both data and power through a single cable. Connect the uplink port to your router or gateway, and ensure the switch is supplied with power. If you’re mounting in a rack, secure the unit with the included hardware before powering on.

Step 4: Access the management interface. Power up the switch and locate its management IP address. On initial access, open a web browser and enter the switch’s default address to reach the setup wizard or the web-based dashboard. You’ll be prompted to log in with an administrative account. If your environment has a pre-configured IT team, you can coordinate with them to reuse existing VLANs and security policies; otherwise, you can rely on the setup wizard for basic configuration.

Step 5: Configure basic settings. Within the management interface, set up fundamental network parameters such as a unique IP address for the switch (to avoid conflicts), VLANs for traffic separation, and QoS rules to prioritize business-critical applications like VoIP and video conferencing. If you’re using PoE, configure PoE settings to manage device power budgets and hourly power consumption to stay within the switch’s capabilities. Apply security features such as strong passwords, SSH management if available, and appropriate access controls to prevent unauthorized changes.

Step 6: Save and test. After configuring, save the settings to ensure they persist after a reboot. Test connectivity by pinging devices on different ports and verifying PoE devices power on as expected. Confirm wireless access points come online, IP phones register correctly, and cameras stream properly. If you need to adjust performance, revisit the QoS and VLAN settings to fine-tune network behavior for your specific environment. Regular maintenance—such as firmware updates and configuration backups—will help preserve performance and security over time.

Worthless Dog Toy
Color: Blue
Buyer beware! This item is worthless - if I could rate it -5*, I would. It was delivered this morning and was destroyed literally within 10 minutes. The squeaker was punctured and two of the crinkle legs were stripped by my Shichon.

Fun for a few minutes but beware!
Color: Blue&Purple&Orange, Color: Blue&Purple&Orange
I have 3 dogs so looking for multipacks of the same style toy is great so there is less squabbling between who gets what toy. I have a border collie puppy, a 4 yr old Irish wolfhound cross and a 17 yr old border collie. These toys were loved by each one of my dogs. The toys are floppy and easy to squeak in the octopus head. So much so that my elderly boy could happily play and make it squeak. He even collected the toys up and took them to his bed! My puppy ran off bounding through the house squeaking the octopus' head with the tentacle-legs flying everywhere as she ran around, so the entertainment value is pretty high! My Irish wolfhound loved the crinkling on the tentacles of the octopus and went straight for tearing into the orange toy pulling out the plastic, then pulling out the squeaker. The toy did ok with a game of tuggy (tug-o-war) with him and this toy would have been a great reward during a training session. The fabric is not very tough so this is not a toy for aggressive chewers. Legs were easily chewed off and unfortunately were ingested by one of my dogs which caused them to vomit repeatedly throughout the night. Same with the squeaker, they are thin, soft plastic. So if your dog is a voracious chewer, give these a miss. What I liked about these toys: 1. They were reasonably priced for 3 toys 2. These are not small toys! They are great for medium and large dogs. 3. Very fun for the dogs to play with. 4. No stuffing to clean up What I didn't like: 1. Toys are not durable for tough tuggers. 2. The toys are not reinforced for chewing. 3. Squeaker not strong enough. The toys just didn't last. There was maybe 15 minutes of play time at most before the chewing and destruction of the toys really got started. I might buy these again if I can give my puppy better supervision for her chewing these and trying to stop her from ingesting the pieces she is chewing off put I probably won't buy them again. There's too much plastic that can be eaten with the crinkly plastic in the legs.

My puppy's favorite toy
Color: Blue
I have an 9 month old lab. He LOVES these!! By far one of his favorite toys! Since he is a puppy they do not last crazy long. Usually a few weeks, but well worth it. They keep him occupied.. and gives me a 20+ min of fee time!!

Best toy ever
Color: Blue&Purple, Color: Blue&Purple
I have been through many many toys with my 4yo GWP. And she is not gentle with her toys. Normally a plush toy will last about a week before all stuffing is brutally removed and the squeaker is so worn out it resembles a limp noodle. Somehow, this toy has survived the last 3 months- squeaker still squeaking, no holes in the fabric, better yet there’s not stuffing to litter all over my floor for the vacuum to get stuck on! She loves this thing, she flings it around, tugs on it, catches it midair, loses it and finds it. Honestly 10/10. I wish I could buy stock in this toy.
