Deadbeat is the upcoming fifth studio album by Tame Impala, the project of Australian musician Kevin Parker, set for release on October 17, 2025, through Columbia Records. The album marks Parker’s return five years after The Slow Rush and reflects his immersion in the Western Australian rave and “bush doof” scene. Recorded between Fremantle and his Wave House studio in Injidup, Deadbeat is described as a rhythm-driven, psychedelic exploration of dance culture, combining layered production with the melodic introspection that has defined Parker’s career.

The album’s rollout began with the single “End of Summer,” followed by “Loser” and “Dracula.” “Loser” was accompanied by a video featuring actor-musician Joe Keery, while “Dracula,” co-written with Sarah Aarons and directed by Julian Klincewicz, was positioned as one of the record’s defining moments. Parker teased Deadbeat with cryptic social media posts, including a classroom-style board showing thirteen song titles, hinting at a dense, conceptual work.

Described by Parker as a reflection of “burnout and rebirth on the dancefloor,” Deadbeat continues Tame Impala’s evolution from psych-rock project to electronic auteur. Its sound reportedly bridges the cinematic polish of Currents with the freeform grooves of The Slow Rush, filtered through the hedonism and haze of late-night outdoor raves. If the early singles are any indication, Deadbeat promises to be one of Parker’s most rhythmically adventurous and emotionally resonant releases to date.
