This ceramic vase captures a moment in the slow, unseen movement of vines creeping, climbing and winding themselves around everything they can find. The vines are alive with the colours of a tropical Queensland garden set on a backdrop of deep green. Where the vines reach their fullest extension, the clay has been cut away, leaving gaps in the canopy, where light breaks through. This work has been made from wheel-thrown and hand-built elements using mid-fire clay, vibrant underglaze and clear glaze.

About the artist.

Justine Dique’s work focuses on creating bright, colourful ceramics that dress the home in dopamine! Her practice involves throwing clay on the wheel then embellishing these pieces with carvings, stamps, stencils and colourful underglaze. Known on socials as Totes Ceramics, Justine's pieces are one-of-a-kind and constantly evolving as she incorporates new techniques into her practice.

Collection or delivery.

This item is part of the Plant Empire Small Wonders Exhibition 2026, on display from 9 May - 7 June. Exhibition items are available for sale in person or online.
