Lenovo ThinkSystem Neptune DWC 38-Port Rack Manifold

Designed for high-density data centers and enterprise server environments, the Lenovo ThinkSystem Neptune DWC 38-Port Rack Manifold delivers a practical, scalable solution for organizing complex cabling and maximizing rack efficiency. This rack-mountable manifold provides a dedicated hub where cables, patch cords, and essential connectors can be stored, routed, and accessed with ease, helping IT teams reduce clutter and streamline maintenance. By consolidating 38 ports into a centralized interface, you can simplify patching, improve airflow, and minimize downtime during upgrades or routine servicing. Whether you’re deploying a new Neptune DWC configuration, consolidating legacy cabling, or expanding an existing system, this manifold is designed to keep your server rack tidy, accessible, and ready for growth.

  • Efficient cable management: The manifold offers clearly defined channels and ports that enable neat, cross-patch routing for power, data, and fiber cables. Its thoughtful layout reduces tangles, save time on troubleshooting, and supports consistent airflow across the front and rear of the rack, which can help maintain cooler operating temperatures and more reliable performance in dense server configurations.
  • 38-port capacity for scalable deployments: With 38 ports in a single, centralized hub, you can consolidate extensive cabling and connector needs. This capacity simplifies patching, minimizes the need for additional distribution blocks, and provides ample headroom for growth as your Neptune DWC environment expands or reconfigures over time.
  • Rack-mountable 19-inch form factor: Built to integrate seamlessly with standard 19-inch server racks, the manifold offers quick, tool-free installation in data centers and server rooms. Its compatibility with widely used rack systems reduces integration time and ensures consistent mounting practices across your infrastructure.
  • Robust construction for data centers: Crafted for demanding environments, this rack manifold combines durable, high-quality materials with a design tuned for reliability in continuous-operation settings. The sturdy chassis minimizes flex and vibration while maintaining stable cable management, contributing to long-term performance and easier routine maintenance in busy data centers.
  • Easy installation and maintenance: The manifold is purpose-built for fast deployment and simple ongoing upkeep. A clean, labeled layout facilitates straightforward cabling changes, reconfigurations, and routine inspections, helping technicians complete tasks with minimal downtime and reduced risk of accidental disconnections during service windows.

How to install Lenovo ThinkSystem Neptune DWC 38-Port Rack Manifold

Installing the Neptune DWC 38-Port Rack Manifold is designed to be straightforward in a typical data center or server room environment. Begin by confirming that your rack area complies with standard 19-inch mounting dimensions and that there is adequate space for cable routing, labeling, and airflow. Ensure the cabinet is de-energized and that you have the necessary mounting hardware, such as standard rack screws and any spacers recommended by your facility’s rack manufacturer. Prepare a clear workspace to prevent accidental cable damage during installation.

  • Step 1: Inspect the rack rails and ensure they are level and securely attached. Align the manifold so its mounting points line up with the rack’s vertical rails, and verify that there is sufficient clearance behind the chassis to accommodate cables and connectors without bending or forcing cables during installation.
  • Step 2: Attach the manifold to the rack using the standard 19-inch mounting screws provided with your cabinet or the manifold itself. Tighten screws evenly to keep the unit square and prevent misalignment that could impede cable routing or future reconfiguration.
  • Step 3: Route main cables and feeds through the manifold’s ports, ensuring a neat, orderly path. Use cable ties or labeling as appropriate to clearly identify each cable’s function, origin, and destination, which simplifies future maintenance and patching tasks.
  • Step 4: Connect the cables to the appropriate devices, ports, and patch panels within the rack. Maintain separation between power and data cables where possible to reduce electromagnetic interference and to preserve optimal signal integrity across the environment.
  • Step 5: Perform a final check of cable management, airflow clearance, and accessibility. Power up the equipment and verify that all connections are secure and functioning as intended. Document the configuration for ongoing maintenance and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

Simple, Reliable, and Works Great
Size: 1 Pack, Style: USB Receiver, Color: Swift Grey
The Logitech M185 has been exactly what I needed for everyday computer use. Setup took less than a minute—just plug in the tiny USB receiver and it was ready to go. The mouse responds smoothly, tracks accurately, and feels comfortable in my hand even after several hours of use. What I appreciate most is the reliability. The wireless connection has been stable with no noticeable lag or dropouts, and the battery life has been excellent. For browsing, office work, and general daily tasks, this mouse delivers solid performance at a very reasonable price. I'm extremely happy with it.

Basic mouse that works - - for now.
Size: 1 Pack, Style: USB Receiver, Color: Blue
I ordered this mouse (in blue) to replace the recently deceased exact same model that I've used for the past 2 or 3 years. I like the simplicity of the M185 mouse and mostly the best bang for your buck! I caught this one on sale for less than a ten-spot, so I thought, "why not." I'm hoping that this one will last a bit longer than my two previous M185 models, that averaged about 3 years each. This model seems plagued by a short life span and is predisposed to mysteriously and suddenly dying, without any obvious symptoms or warning of any kind - - you're working and clicking along, going about your day, when suddenly the cursor on the computer screen freezes and that's it. Nothing, zero, nada. Funny thing, I'm very careful not to abuse or drop the mouse, and keep a fresh battery installed and watch for leakage and all that stuff - - they just stop working, and I assume it is caused by some sort of inherent electronic fault in the circuitry of the previous M185's. Due to my loyalty to the brand and model (and since it was on sale) I decided to give it one more shot. They say that "third time's a charm". I like the fact that the M185 is simple and uncluttered with extra buttons that I would never use for my purpose, which is simple web-browsing and the occasional text document production. The feel is solid, not heavy, but not cheap feeling, either. I'm used to the shape of this mouse, which to me is quite comfortable for long sessions, another reason why I kind of wanted to stay with this model. The buttons have an audible "click", which doesn't bother me at all, and the wheel moves smoothly and also has a clicking operation (which I rarely ever use). The overall surface of the mouse has a matte finish, but like my previous models I'm sure it will eventually wear shiny spots where my fingers reside and will attain a more "well-used" look in time. Connecting it was a breeze, too. I just plugged the dongle into a spare rear usb port of my desktop, and the mouse connected instantly, no problem. The dongle can be stored safely inside the battery compartment, so you can take the whole thing out of the house if needed for use elsewhere. The speed of 1000 dpi seems just right for my purposes. The one I ordered even came with its own AA Duracell battery, which I wasn't really expecting. This mouse also enters "sleep mode" when you don't use it for a while, and I can't say how many times I've got up and left it on all night. And that's not hard to do, as I'll explain next. The only real negative to this mouse is the absence of any easily visible status indicator of it's on / off switch. The rear housing of this mouse is matte black, including the tiny switch where you turn it on and off with your fingernail, with only a very faint "on" lettering (also black), and very hard to see with my aging eyes. The laser is not lighted or visible when on, also adding to the confusion, especially in a darkened room. So, as a workaround, I took a tiny drop of green paint and placed it down inside the switch slider to visibly help indicate the "on" position, and likewise a dot of bright orange for the "off" position. Many of Logitech's more expensive models (and a few other manufacturers) include this color-coded switch indication. I guess for the $$, they had to cut corners somewhere - - a minor complaint. In summary, this is a good basic mouse that works - - let's hope that this one will last longer than its two predecessors.
