artist biography
Birgit Ingeborg Krafft-Wæsterberg was born on March 8, 1902 in Södertälje, Stockholm County. She was a Swedish artist.

Krafft-Wæsterberg studied at Wilhelmsons Målarskola in Stockholm between 1924 and 1928 and during study trips to Paris, London and Denmark. Beginning in 1926 she exhibited regularly in group shows curated by Sveriges allmänna konstförenings (Sweden's general art association) at Liljevalch's Art Gallery. She exhibited at Nordiska konstnärinnors utställning (Nordic Artists’ Exhibition) in Stockholm in 1948, and had solo exhibitions with Västerviks konstförenings on a number of occasions during the 1950s, followed by other solo shows at galleries in Örnsköldsvik, Tranås, Vimmerby, Gamleby and Kalmar.

Krafft-Wæsterberg is best known for her still life paintings in oil. She did also drew portraits in graphite. Examples of her work are held in the collection of the National Museum in Stockholm.

She passed away at the aged of 83 on October 14, 1985 in Västervik, Kalmar County.
