** SHORTLISTED FOR THE 2025 GAY MEMOIR/BIOGRAPHY LAMBDA AWARD **

* LONGLISTED FOR THE NATIONAL BOOK CRITICS CIRCLE AWARD IN AUTOBIOGRAPHY *

* LILLY’S LIBRARY NOVEMBER BOOK CLUB PICK *

Manboobs is Komail Aijazuddin’s riotous yet intelligent memoir of searching for love, seamlessly blending humor, politics, pop culture, and the bravery required to be yourself. Aijazuddin confidently announces himself as a sharp new voice in humor with his moving, wickedly funny reexamination of the American Dream and our search for home.

"One of the funniest books I've ever read." —EDMUND WHITE

“One of the best-written memoirs I've ever read—I couldn't put it down. The humor is so sharp, so delicious, so irresistible. What a remarkable feat.” —ALOK VAID-MENON

“At once both humorous and heartbreaking, [Aijazuddin’s] memoir allows his bubbly personality to shine in a story about letting go of shame and finding self-acceptance.” WASHINGTON POST

“[A] sterling debut . . . Aijazuddin combines blazing wit with heartbreaking candor as he recounts his path toward self-acceptance as a gay Pakistani.” —PUBLISHERS WEEKLY, starred review

I’m just a man, standing in front of a salad, asking it to be a cake.

What do you do when you’re too gay for Pakistan, too Pakistani to be gay in America, and you’re ashamed of your body everywhere? How can you find happiness despite years of humiliation, physical danger, and a legion of Brooklyn hipsters who know you only as a queer from Whereveristan? How do you summon the courage to be yourself no matter where you are?

Even as a young child in Lahore, Komail Aijazuddin knew he was different—no one else at his all-boys prep school was pirouetting off their desks, or bullied for their “manboobs,” or spontaneously bursting into songs from The Little Mermaid.

Aijazuddin began to believe his only chance at a happy, meaningful life would be found elsewhere: America, the land of the free, the home of the gays. But the hostility of a post-9/11 world and society’s rejection of his art, his desires, and his body would soon teach him that finding happiness takes a lot more than a plane ticket.

Searching for his place between two worlds while navigating a minefield of expectations, prejudice, and self-doubt, Aijazuddin discovered, sometimes painfully, sometimes hilariously, that there are people and places he’d need to let go of to move forward.

Sizing is way wayyy off.
Size: 5T, Color: Beige
I ordered three of these in different sizes for my 5yro&7yro -They’re average to their age sized kids. So ordered size 5 for my 7 yro (I read other reviews on it being big). Everything fit except the pants we’re closer to a size 8 (I ordered a size 5 remember) so disappointed. And a size 4 for my 5yro. The size 4 pants fit my 7yro! But not my 5yro at all. The rest of size 4 outfit was only a little big but not big enough to trade up to the other child. Unfortunately the gigantic pants are beyond the problem. They are definitely running 3 sizes too big. They’re not even something I could fix with my sewing machine. Company says they’ll work with you & send one item “free”but then say their shipping & handling fees are more expensive than the suit. Feels like it’s a ploy. update, the third suit arrived after a month of waiting and its a size 3-well its supposed to be a size 3. The pants are the size of an 8 year old. Im pissed. it's now past the return date, I have 3 suits for $45 each, and I had to rig the pants to fit my 4yro for my wedding. looked like crap obviously bc an 8yro's pants don't fit a 4 yro.. Don't bother buying from this company unless you're buying for an absurdly proportioned person.

Very high quality suit for the price! Might as well buy, then rent.
Color: Deep Grey (Stretch Fabric), Size: X-Small
I bought this for my son for his Prom, as he decided to go last minute. He weighs around 125 pounds and is about 5'11. The XS fit was pretty amazing. As the supplier says, follow the size chart on the second picture. There is also some stretch to the material and the pants have belt loops. The only thing we noticed that we didn't like is that the sleeves were a little large at the opening around the wrist. Since the cuff-links are sew on, there isn't really on easy way to adjust this. All in all, this was a great purchase and I would highly recommend YND suits.

Good buy for sure.
Color: Burgundy (Stretch Fabric), Size: X-Large
The suit looks and feels great for the price I’m 6’3 190-200lb and ordered a size XL. I’m going to have the sleeve dropped a tad bit and waist taken in. The hem is perfect and to my liking. Will be buying 2-3 in the future.
