Bob Glück met Ed Aulerich-Sugai in 1970. Ed was an aspiring artist; Bob wanted to write. They were young men in San Francisco at the high tide of sexual liberation and soon, and for eight years, they were lovers, after which they were friends. Ed was an explorer in the realms of sex. He was beautiful, fragile, exasperating, serious, unassuaged. In 1994 he died of HIV. His dream notebooks became a touchstone for this book, which Glück has been working on for some two decades, while also making his name as a proponent of New Narrative writing and as one of America’s most unusual, venturesome, and lyrical authors. About Ed is about Ed, who remains, as our dead do, both familiar and unknowable, faraway and close. It is about Bob too.
The book is a hybrid, at once fiction and fact, like memory, and it takes in many things through tales of political activism and domestic comedy and fury to questions of art and love and experiences of longing and horror. The book also shifts in register, from the delicate to the analytic, to funny and explicit and heartbroken. It begins in the San Francisco of the early 1980s, when Ed and Bob have been broken up for a while. aIds is spreading, but Ed has yet to receive his diagnosis. It follows him backward through his life with Bob in the 1970s and forward through the harrowing particulars of death. It holds on to him and explores his art. It ends in his dreams.

Less cast and the zinc scent is mild.
I use sunscreen regularly. One of the aspects I do not like is the white cast I get from zinc-based SPFs. This one is zinc-based but it has tallow and PDRN. I want to see if they make any difference when it comes application and feel.
MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT
1. I received Mystic Orchard’s beef tallow sunscreen with PDRN. Comparing its value, I think the volume is pretty good. I received 2.8 ounces.
2. When it comes to scent, I smell the metallic scent but it is not as bad as the one I have been using for swimming. It is there, but pretty faint.
3. You can tell by the sheen that it is zinc-based. It has the same consistency.
4. What I noticed though is that the white cast is not too bad. It blends fast with the tallow.
5. I like tallows because they contain fat-soluble vitamins like vitamin E for some antioxidants.
6. The cica is nice too for those who need a calming ingredient with their sunscreen.
7. I think this would be good for when going out. I do not think I will be using it for swimming since it is mild in scent and cast. Better to use it elsewhere than just for swimming.
OVERALL IMPRESSION: I think that this SPF sunscreen with tallow and PDRN is cost-effective and worth its value if you want a zinc-based sunscreen with less cast and milder scent.

Amazing, clean and natural ingredients!

Literally the best sunscreen I have tried so far! Main ingredient is grass fed beef tallow which is what I’ve been looking for. I’m an outdoor/wedding photographer so I’m more susceptible to skin cancer due to genetics. Yesterday I used it all day for an outdoor wedding, reapplying every 2 hrs and this saved me so much!!! No white cast residue so I was applying quickly in between big moments and the formula is lightweight, no odor, goes on quick and smoothly and it’s not greasy! I have so much appreciation for the clean, natural ingredients
