An all-new definitive history of Connecticut's notorious all-in-one comic book company! Often disparaged as a second-rate funny-book outfit, Charlton produced a vast array of titles that span from the 1940s Golden Age to the Bronze Age of the '70s in many genres, from Hot Rods to Haunted Love. The imprint experienced explosive bursts of creativity, most memorably the 'Action Hero Line' edited by Dick Giordano in the 1960s, which featured the renowned talents of Steve Ditko and a stellar team of creators, as well as the unforgettable '70s 'Bullseye' era that spawned E-Man and Doomsday +1, all helmed by veteran masters and talented newcomers-and serving as a training ground for an entire generation of comics creators thriving in an environment of complete creative freedom. Woven into this story are interviews with dozens of talented participants, including Giordano, Dennis O'Neil, Alex Toth, Sanho Kim, Tom Sutton, Pat Boyette, Nick Cuti, John Byrne, Mike Zeck, Joe Staton, Sam Glanzman, Neal Adams, Joe Gill, and even some Derby residents who recall working in the sprawling company plant. Though it gave up the ghost over three decades ago, Charlton's influence continues today with its Action Heroes serving as inspiration for Alan Moore's cross-media graphic novel hit, Watchmen.

Stylish
Size: Large, Color: White
This Alimens & Gentle Oxford shirt is honestly a great addition to any wardrobe and completely exceeded my expectations ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐. The material thickness is spot on. It’s not too thin and not heavy either, which makes it perfect for both work and casual wear. The fabric feels sturdy and well structured without being stiff or uncomfortable. The style is clean, classic, and versatile. It looks sharp enough for business or office settings, but you can easily dress it down for a more casual look. The white color is crisp and polished, and the cut gives it a modern, put together appearance without feeling too formal. Quality really stands out with this shirt. The stitching is neat, the buttons are secure, and everything feels well made. It holds its shape nicely even after wearing it all day, and it doesn’t feel like one of those shirts that loses structure after a few washes. Comfort is another big win. The stretch in the fabric makes a noticeable difference, especially when moving around, sitting, or reaching. It feels flexible and breathable, and you don’t feel restricted at all. It’s the kind of shirt you can wear from morning to night without feeling uncomfortable. Wrinkle resistance is impressive. Even after a long day or sitting for hours, it still looks fairly smooth and presentable. A quick hang or light touch up is all it needs, which is great if you’re trying to save time. Value for money is excellent. For the price, you’re getting a stylish, comfortable, and well made shirt that easily competes with much more expensive brands. It looks professional, feels great, and performs well. Overall this shirt checks all the boxes. Great material, sharp style, solid quality, comfortable fit, and very good wrinkle resistance. I’d definitely recommend it and would happily buy more in different colors.

Work casual shirt that travels well:
Size: Large, Color: Dusty Blue, Size: Large, Color: Dusty Blue
This shirt runs true to size with a bit of room for more. The material is a bit stretchy which helps keep the shirt looking great without major wrinkles. The shirt itself is comfortable and feels like it'd last through many washes and the care instructions are fairly simple (cold wash and low dryer). This particular color is unusual and compliments many outfits. Given the quality, this is a high value item. Just go easy with the iron.
