Background
ADAM23 (A Disintegrin And Metalloproteinase 23) is a member of the ADAM family, known for its roles in cell adhesion and signaling. Unlike other ADAMs, it lacks proteolytic activity but interacts with integrins and extracellular matrix proteins, influencing neuronal development and synaptic plasticity.
