After roughly two decades in the mists, instrumentalist Spike Williams and one of the world's most affecting singers, Alison Statton, reunited to make this new masterpiece.
As soon as Spike discovered punk, he wasted no time forming Reptile Ranch (Wales’ own Scritti Politti), starting a label (Z Block), and releasing the compilation of the Cardiff scene, Is The War Over? After an act dropped out of the cooperatively-funded venture, Spike approached the disbanded Young Marble Giants to contribute a track or two. Bemused, they agreed to reform, and it wasn’t long before Rough Trade rang the public phone listed on the back cover of the LP to poach the combo, leading to an album which hit immediately and has inspired hundreds of artists since. All the while, Spike worked with Debbie Pritchard in a number of unheard bands - but that’s another tale. After YMG’s breakup, singer Alison Statton started Weekend with Spike and Simon Booth, a project which saw chart success and the birth of a nouveau-retro style as individualistic as YMG’s, one later co-opted by lesser acts. Weekend, too, split after their debut album. Despite Weekend having become Alison’s second big act, Rough Trade passed on her next project with Spike. Vinyl Japan stepped in to release the duo’s debut, Tidal Blues and other releases followed, but as real life, jobs, and children beckoned, both Alison and Spike stepped away from music . . for more than twenty years. Their return is both unexpected. Bimini Twist is the work of the two alone. Apart from some vocal tracking in a local studio to best capture Alison’s still wondrous voice - everything was recorded in their homes, much of it ‘live’, and these new songs show the duo’s charm and diversity, featuring Alison’s most personal lyrics and Spike’s peculiar musical genius.
Alison Statton & Spike aren't simply back with their first album in more than two decades, but have redefined their long-running musical partnership with a collection of songs matching the diversity of Weekend's classic "La Varieté" with a charm and innocence that reflects the fact that every note of this album was performed by the two of them alone, with no help from outside musicians, engineers or any other living soul. The advent of technology has allowed for these songs to be recorded at home and in comfort, revealing the most personal and enchanting collection of songs in their careers.

Brighter than my headlights on bright!

This Nilight 26 inch 540 watt 50,000 lumen Triple Row Driving light is the brightest light I've ever had on my truck.
I bought a kit to mount the light to my Grill Guard, just above the bumper. I can see deer just like daytime, at least two blocks before I get to them. I've never seen a light bar as bright. There are no cons if you ignore the fact that it comes without a wiring harness.
I definitely recommend this light bar!

First, the picture isn't great, but I didn't intend it for the review. I'm really impressed with the quality and brightness of this light for the price! Installation was easy and straightforward. If you can do some basic work with hand tools, you can install this light in about 30 minutes, including wiring. I like the functionality of having the different light modes, although I typically just use the bright white setting. Some people complained about water getting into their light, but I haven't had any problem with water resistance after several months (including rain, snow, off-roading, and spraying it down with high pressure at the car wash. It fit perfect, just make sure you pay attention to the measurements before you order.

Great performance but low grade material.

I want to give it 5 stars but I can't because:
The light bar is extremely bright and they go a great distance. I am very satisfied with how much it puts out. 5 out of 5 stars for its performance. HOWEVER nilight seems like they're starting to go cheap with their build material. 2 out of 5 stars for that. I have added photos of the older material vs new material for reference. Their old material is 3.3mm thickness compared to their new material at 2.7mm thickness. And that's for the mounting brackets and the light bar housing. It doesn't seem like .6mm would be a big deal but it's noticeably less rigid. Hand tight started bending the metal. Great product for sure but build material is low grade. Not trying to knock them, I love nilight products and will keep using them but it seems like they trying to save money by cutting weight which makes it less rigid. Dings and scratches come easily now. It worries me a little bit if it can take the abuse of vibrations over time from driving around now.

It will light up your life

I only got to use them once before my jeep was totaled. They’re super bright. Great build quality. It survived taking a header down a mountain side and rolling 4 times. When the jeep was recovered, the light bar still worked!!

Great light - very bright.

Installed on a Bronco. It wasn't designed for a Bronco, but I was able to mount it after a trip to hardware store and some minor modifications. The quality of the light itself seems good. Time will tell how long it lasts. It definitely lights up the road and is worth the price.
