Grave Injustice is the powerful story of the ongoing struggle of Native Americans to repatriate the objects and remains of their ancestors that were appropriated, collected, manipulated, sold, and displayed by Europeans and Americans. Anthropologist Kathleen S. Fine-Dare focuses on the history and culture of both the impetus to collect and the movement to repatriate Native American remains.

Using a straightforward historical framework and illuminating case studies, Fine-Dare first examines the changing cultural reasons for the appropriation of Native American remains. She then traces the succession of incidents, laws, and changing public and Native attitudes that have shaped the repatriation movement since the late nineteenth century. Her discussion and examples make clear that the issue is a complex one, that few clear-cut heroes or villains make up the history of the repatriation movement, and that little consensus about policy or solutions exists within or beyond academic and Native communities.

The concluding chapters of this history take up the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA), which Fine-Dare considers as a legal and cultural document. This highly controversial federal law was the result of lobbying by American Indian and Native Hawaiian peoples to obtain federal support for the right to bring back to their communities the human remains and associated objects that are housed in federally funded institutions all over the United States.

Grave Injustice is a balanced introduction to a longstanding and complicated problem that continues to mobilize and threatens to divide Native Americans and the scholars who work with and write about them.

It works great
Color: Black
It has three heat settings. I like my coffee very hot and its perfect for that. It blinks when it’s turned off and still hot. It’s also durable. If it falls of my coffee table it won’t be damaged. Also not expensive.

Great gift!
Color: Light Blue
I bought these for teacher appreciation gifts and the recipients loved them! The light blue ones just add a pop of color and I’ve been told they keep their coffee warm ALL day. What a sweet treat for deserving educators. I plan on buying one for my desk!

Does the job, wish it had some safety features
Color: Black
Good value for the price, and it definitely keeps your coffee warm. I do wish it had a safety feature where it could turn off on its own, or a less sensitive on/off button. It goes on easily and gets very hot, so it can be dangerous with little kids.

FINALLY able to enjoy my morning coffee without reheating!!!!
Color: Black
Since this mug warmer arrived, I have finally been able to enjoy a relaxing cup of morning coffee. Value and quality are on point. This warmer keeps my coffee warm to the last drop. The cord is long enough to reach an outlet near the end table, easy and simple operation (tap on, tap to lower temp up to two times then final tap off). Auto shut off after 4 hours which I have not used yet as I always unplug my unit after each use, however it is nice to know that is an option. Just one suggestion, Using a mug lid with unit also helps keep the hot beverage at a consistant temp. I LOVE IT and wish I ordered one sooner.

Perfect
Color: Light Blue
For me this coffee warmer is perfect. The disk sides are just right. High enough for a good fit, but not so high you risk sloshing your beverage. The color (blue) is exactly as displayed. Works great and a very good price.
