The Eight Immortals

The eight Chinese Immortals depicted in a human form developed rather late in the Taoist tradition; originally they were ÒJing,Ó biological energies. To be exact, thirteen energies comprise the building blocks of Chinese health and spirituality. Taken as a whole these thirteen energies are believed to be the tools needed to create life as we know it. Taoist ideology revolved around these energies as ÒPermutations of Negative and Positive.Ó They believed all experience was produced through modification, adaptation, and change of a part of Nature unseen but expressed in plant and animal form. And, strangely enough, genetics has proven these old shamans correct. They werenÕt off the mark at all. With advances in microbiology and genetics, we no longer need to guess who the Immortals are. They are our Genes.

Taoists could not conceive of genes as we do today. Instead, they discovered the effects of genes using firsthand observation to uncover clues in Nature. The clues were there to be found, the Golden Ratio being the most striking since it governs the shape and proportions of plants, animals, and minerals.

WeÕre fortunate Dawkins had the courage to step beyond conservative bounds to point out why genes approximate what we consider immortality, by their ability to faithfully adapt to the environment and replicate. His ÒSelfish GeneÓ theory highlights and finally provides deserved consideration of their virtual immortality but falters by unequivocally denying awareness in genes. His assertions are persuasive but suspect from a commonsense point of view. If it took four hundred million years for DNA to find a way to replicate, adapt and build Òsurvival machinesÓ (plants and animals), it seems plausible DNA could also have developed something comparable to the super polygene related to awareness, consciousness, and intelligence.

In DawkinsÕ godless scenario and willy-nilly approach to creation, he has to allow for the unexpected; and nothing could be more unexpected than the Law of truly large numbersÐÑbillions and billions of yearsÐÐcoupled with fidelity in genetic replication producing awareness, consciousness, and intelligence in genes. In fact, if an external supernatural agent is denied, then the only place these attributes can exist is within genesÑthe building blocks of conscious intelligent life.

Great sunscreen! Protects from blue light as well as UVA UVB.
Size: 1.7 Ounce (Pack of 1)
Great product! It’s a tad greasy so I mix it with other facial sunscreen that has a drier texture and the combo feels great on my skin and gives me a glow. I love that Cocokind protects from blue light too!

Works great and non-toxic
Size: 1.7 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I love this sunscreen. It rubs in smoothly with no pilling. It leaves a slightly dewy finish without being greasy. On my slightly olive skin, there is a tiny white cast at first, but it quickly disappears. It is free of toxic chemicals. It’s more expensive than some lotions but I find it to be worth it.
