Medium Chain Triglycerides

Coconut oil made of 100% Medium chain triglycerides has been shown to have the greatest health benefits. MCTs are made up of a chemical structure that allows them to quickly and effectively bypass gastric uptake for transport directly to the liver for oxidation and then used for energy. Their unusual chemical structure and metabolic process has resulted in MCTs being a focus for a wide range of therapeutic and exercise supplement uses.

In the context of exercise science, recent research has shown that MCTs significantly (up to 65%) increase resting energy expenditure, along with dose-dependently reducing fatty acid deposition in adipose tissue. These results suggest that MCTs are effectively increasing the body’s metabolic response to food intake.

They also allow for a rich and smooth mouthfeel, which in the context of a collagen creamer, this will add a velvety addition to your favorite beverage.

Collagen is by far the most plentiful protein found in the human body. It makes up the body’s skeletal framework, as well as provides integrity to ligaments, tendons, and other connective tissues found inside the body. It is also a primary component of healthy hair, skin, nails, as well as other important structures of the body. Collagen supplements have become increasingly popular as of late, but most people do not know that the type of collagen matters just as much as the quality of the source. Core has combined Collagen Types I and III from high quality bovine hide that works to provide strength for structures such as skin, tendons, bones, connective tissues, teeth, muscles, organs, and arteries.

Collagen and its many types are by far the most plentiful protein found in the human body. It makes up the body’s skeletal framework as well as provides integrity to ligaments, tendons, and other connective tissues found inside the body. It is also a primary component of healthy hair, skin, nails, as well as other important structures of the body. Collagen supplementation has become increasingly popular, especially for its cosmetic benefits. When it comes to your skin, as the largest organ in the body, it relies very heavily on the presence of collagen (skin is roughly 70% collagen protein). As we age, natural collagen production begins to slow, and we have to rely on dietary sources to keep collagen levels up. Foods like chicken, bone broth, fish, citrus fruits, berries, garlic, and leafy greens contain nutrients that can stimulate natural collagen formation, but supplementing with collagen protein (and its specific types) can also be crucially beneficial.

Type I specifically benefits your skin health. One randomized, placebo-controlled clinical trial confirmed that skin aging can be addressed using nutrients, such as collagen, that are able to promote skin health. Results showed that after three months of oral intake, skin hydration, elasticity, roughness, and density all showed significant improvements. Also, since the nutrients were taken orally, a deeper dermatological activation was achieved, which can equate to a longer lasting regeneration of skin.

Type III collagen on the other hand is found in the walls of arteries and organs such as the esophagus, spleen, pancreas, and gallbladder. It can also be found in some muscle fibers. As with the skin, as we age, the structural integrity of tissues can begin to degenerate. Supplementation can provide an extra backbone of support when adequate nutrients are not being taken in to aid in supporting an optimally functioning digestive system.

Collagen protein can also be a great protein type for those who do not digest other protein powders very well. It is well tolerated by most consumers and offers another high-quality source of protein that can ultimately increase the function of digestive organs that work to break down and absorb other whole food sources and proteins. As a result, collagen protein can arguably be seen as one of the most beneficial types of protein one can consume.

Different than most on the market worth a try!
I’ve tried a lot of pimple patches and these actually feel different from most of the ones on the market because of the sulfur/OptiMSM ingredient combination. They don’t just cover the spot — they seem to really help bring everything to the surface faster. I had one deep pimple that had been under my skin for so long I honestly started wondering if it was just a scar at that point, and this patch finally helped it come out and heal. The patches are super thin and blend into the skin really well, so they’re easy to wear during the day or overnight. They stick well without feeling harsh on my skin, and I also tried them on my tween sons, who definitely need to wash their noses better sometimes, and they seemed to work really well on their softer skin too without causing irritation. I also love the little travel pouch included. Definitely one of the more effective acne patches I’ve used.

Halo patches
I tried the Halo Dot Ultra Thin Pimple Patches, and overall I’m really impressed with them. In terms of effectiveness, they work well at helping bring pimples to a head and protecting spots overnight so they don’t get worse or irritated. The value for money is good since you get a decent amount in the pack and they’re thin enough to use during the day or night without being too noticeable. They’re super easy to use—just clean skin, place the patch, and go—and I like that they stay in place pretty well. I also find them pretty versatile, since you can wear them at home or out and about if you get a discreet one. For skin sensitivity, they’ve been gentle on my skin with no irritation, which is a big plus for me. Overall, they’re a simple, effective skincare staple I’d definitely keep on hand.

Nice patches -- Fair price -- has sulfur!
This is a review for the Halo Dot™ Pimple Patches for Face, Hydrocolloid Acne Patches with OptiMSM®, Visibly Shrinks Zit & Whitehead- Comes with Travel Essentials Inner Pouch (33 PATCHES) ($12.59) PROS: Price -- a fair deal for 33 patches and consistent with pricing of most other similar patches online. The inclusion of sulfur (this OptiMSM business) makes these unique also -- I can't seem to find others on Amazon with similar formulation, so these are intriguing. Sulfur is known for antimicrobial properties and can be helpful for zits and a little bit gentler on your skin than benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid -- but anytime I put any sulfur stuff on zits that are above or around my eyes, it seems to migrate INTO my eyeball while I'm asleep and man is that uncomfortable. This little patch solves that dilemma nicely by keeping the sulfur put. CONS: none that I can see; these are a nice entry into the hydrocolloid acne patch space.

Disappointing results and poor adhesion.
I love Hydrocolloid pimple patches. I have used at least half of the brands available for sale and even the non brand ones. I’ve also used the hydrocolloid sheets and cut them to size and the hydrocolloid gel bandaids and used for pimple patches. I love how they help along the healing and keep me from picking at the pimple. This brand I wasn’t impressed by. None of them stayed on my face for half the night. The one that remained in place the longest out of the 4, didn’t show any signs of improvement. The longest they kept in place was 3 hours. I had to reapply and I still handbrake noticed any signs of healing after using one full sheet on 4 smaller sized blemishes because the adhesive wasn’t working.

Stops Me From Picking and Actually Works
As a woman in my 40s, I never would have guessed I’d still need pimple patches, yet the occasional zit still pops up — and these things are like magic. They work really well, blend into my fair/light skin nicely, and are barely noticeable at a quick glance. I’m also a terrible picker, and picking is so bad for your skin, so I love that these keep me from messing with pimples while doing all the work for me overnight. I’m always grossly fascinated by how much gunk they pull out by morning. Very happy to have these in my little skincare emergency arsenal.
