At 6.75" tall, it's a compact unit that holds its own against traditional rigs while cutting out the extra hardware. Three voltage settings let you dial in your preferred temperature, and a 30-second "RöK Mode" handles quick heat cycles without fussing with buttons.

This version ships with Pulsar's updated coil-less quartz V2 atomizer cup, which has a larger surface area than the original for faster, more even heating. You also get a ceramic atomizer cup in the box, so you can swap between the two depending on your preference. Both are coil-less designs, meaning there's no exposed coil to burn out or degrade your material. The borosilicate glass base uses a disc percolator for water filtration, and the air paths are isolated from the electronics to keep vapor clean.

Pulsar includes both an herb carb cap and a wax carb cap, a dabber tool, cleaning brushes, silicone atomizer collars, alcohol-filled cotton buds, and a USB charging cable. It's a well-stocked kit, especially if you're picking up your first e-rig and don't want to buy accessories separately.

• Two atomizer cup materials included out of the box. Quartz tends to favour flavour; ceramic tends to retain heat longer. Try both.
