The Libec DC-Z12 is a specialized, high-performance connection cable engineered to link the Libec ZD-1 Zoom Demand controller directly to Fujinon 12-pin portable broadcast lenses. It serves as an essential data bridge, enabling fluid, variable-speed digital servo zoom functionality on live production, EFP, and studio pedestal camera setups.

Core Features & Practical Utility

  • Precision Hirose Signaling: The cable features an industry-standard 12-pin Fujinon-style circular male connector on the lens side. It establishes a secure multi-channel interface to communicate zoom speed adjustments, record start/stop triggers, and video return (RET) commands instantly without data lag.

  • Lossless Voltage Shielding: The internal architecture is layered with heavy anti-interference shielding to isolate electronic command signals from electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequencies (RF) commonly present near high-output studio lighting grids and power arrays.

  • Optimized Panning Length: With a physical length of 39.4 inches (1 meter), the cable offers the ideal amount of slack to run along a fluid head pan handle without creating an unmanageable mess of wire, while remaining loose enough to prevent binding during extreme vertical tilts or panoramic swings.

Hardware Technical Specifications Matrix:

Parameter Libec DC-Z12 Specifications
Model DC-Z12
Total Run Length 39.4 inches or 1.0 meter

Demand-Side Interface 1x 8-Pin Dedicated Connection
Primary System Matching Libec ZD-1 Zoom Demand Controller
Lens Standard Target Fujinon ENG / EFP Portable Servo Lenses (12-Pin variants)
Net Structural Weight 0.13 pounds or 60 grams

Operational System Tips for the DC-Z12:

💡 The Hardware Protocol Switch: The Libec ZD-1 is a cross-brand universal demand controller. When pairing it with a Fujinon 12-pin lens via the DC-Z12 cable, you must manually align the physical hardware settings on the controller itself. Locate the recessed Lens Switch toggle situated on the base or underside of the ZD-1 housing and ensure it is switched cleanly over to "F" (Fujinon). If left on the "C" (Canon) preset, the servo electronic commands will conflict, rendering the pan-handle zoom lever completely unresponsive.

  • Managing Push-Pull Strain: When breaking down your broadcast rig at the end of a multi-camera shoot, never pull on the flexible rubber cable jacket to disconnect the 12-pin terminal from your Fujinon lens block. Securely grasp the outer metal alignment sleeve of the circular plug and slide it backward to disengage the mechanical internal lock smoothly, preventing internal wire fractures over time.

great product
Style: AVR-S770H
I bought the Denon S770H to replace my 20 year old Optimus receiver. I wasn't looking to go crazy on cost but wasn't afraid to put up a little extra money either so I chose middle of the road for Denon. When I put this in my cart I was expecting to pay $649 plus but was pleasantly surprised to see a $200 price drop by the time I pulled the trigger on the purchase. Product came quick and I set it up the next day. I am only using the 5.1 set up at this time but the way the on screen set up walks you through everything it is a breeze. The AVR analyzes each speaker position individually to optimize the settings and provides the best balances possible. This receiver takes my old speakers to a new level of enjoyment without buying anything else (at this time). Watching a Football game it makes the sound come as though you are actually in the stadium. Love it! Still haven't tried all of the options for inputs yet, but I'm sure there will not be any disappointments. I would highly recommend Denon.

Great for UTV rear light install!
Size: 16AWG -10FT 2Pin DT
I had a set of 3” Nilight pod lights with wiring harness to install as rear lights on my Ranger 570 SP. The Nilight harness with relay was great! But it was too short to keep the relay and fuse in the front compartment on the pulse panel. These were the perfect solution! The extensions are plugged in under the tunnel to each of the individual light leads from the Nilight harness. And there was just enough length to run behind the seat back, up the driver side roll bar, and to each light. (Had about 1’ too much for passenger side light, so should be fine for full-size Ranger too.) Now have a weatherproof, factory quality installation with no splices or solder joints. The only mods I had to make for the entire install (not related to these extension cables) were: 1) Cutting the ring lugs off and adding waterproof heat shrink butt splices to Polaris pulse plug, and 2) Buying a factory-style Carling L1 illuminated switch to replace the round switch provided. (This is a direct plug and play too since the Nilight switch wiring has 1/4” faston connectors.)

Affordable
Size: 16AWG -10FT 2Pin DT
Used them to install Morimoto 2 Banger pods on my vehicle. Casing for the wires is thick enough that will stand the weather and abrasion. I spliced them to make just one run, added braided sleeving (for looks and additional protection). The wire quality and thickness made the connection with waterproof connectors strong and durable. Saved me around 20 dollars as compared to brand name wires.
