As a motivational speaker, Roderick inspires others to aspire to do all things well and develop good habits as, ÒHow you do one thing, is how you do everything.Ó He nestles in deep adoration for his wife and perches high upon his achievement of raising great children whoÕve become even greater citizens. A Kingdom Man he is; a devout follower of Christ. Selflessness knows his name and excellence is just the same.

Roderick Ferrell is a force of faith and an agent of change. Has he been a steward to the country? As a veteran who has served seven years, he proudly proclaims. Does he duly and freely give his time?

Time is short. RoderickÕs encounter with cancer taught him such a lesson. It opened his eyes to the ugliness of all his wasted time due to procrastination.

Overcoming the challenge of cancer also helped him to hone in on the beauty of productive life, where being the best version of oneself is the only option.

His book, ÒHow to Be the Best Version of YourselfÓ encourages others to be a difference, seek change and be in a constant state of growth.

An epic naval history decades in the making
Format: Hardcover
Excellent ending to Dr. Rodger's three book series "A Naval History of Britain", with the same level of detail and interesting presentation of facts I have come to expect from reading other of his works over the years. For anyone interested in a comprehensive naval history of Britain (from which the US Navy inherited much of its tradition), I would highly recommend this series. In addition, "The Wooden World: An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy" is also quite a good read. My (incomplete, sadly) collection of Dr. Rodger's works will continue to hold a special place on my naval history shelf for easy reference in the future. I also hope Dr. Rodger's health has improved. The shipper unfortunately did not pack this book well, resulting in minor damage (mostly cosmetic - book is still entirely readable).

Answers Many Questions about Naval Developments
Format: Hardcover
The history offers a detailed and well organized account of the Royal Navy as it transitioned from sail to steam. Coverage included personalities, technology, tactics and strategy. The combination provided a complete appreciation of the dynamics at play, some unexpectedly. The details might be a bit much for a casual reader but offered plenty of avenues for research not available or compiled in one source. I look forward to the final volume, which should describe another watershed era.

Great Book with a different perspective
Format: Hardcover
This will be a short review of a very long book. I ordered the book expecting more of a history of the British Navy, but this is more of a history of Britain with respect to its navy. It is still excellent and authoritative, just different than I expected. I really appreciate a somewhat different perspective than I have found in some other books. For example, any discussion of Jackie Fisher I have read previously seemed to border on the hagiographic, whereas here he seems to get a very evenhanded appraisal. A great book, highly recommended.
