The 1980 album “The Game” is now available in a 2CD & 1DVD set as the 8th installment of the “Expanded Collector's Edition,” Queen's ultimate in-depth album study series. In 1979, the single “Ai ni Namae no Desire” became the first number one single in the U.S., followed by the smash hits “Save Me” and “Play The Game”. The single “Jigoku e e michi no tsuzure” was another number one single in the U.S., and became Queen's biggest-selling single at the time, a big hit in many countries around the world. The album “The Game,” which included a series of hit singles, expanded the band's musical range from rockabilly to funk disco to new wave, and even introduced synthesizers, a change from the no-synthesizer sound that the band had dared to use in the past. This is a memorable album that marks the beginning of a new era for Queen, who were at the height of their popularity when they reached number one on the U.S. album charts and had the highest sales in their history, coupled with their largest-ever world tour. CD2 is also an “alternate album” featuring separate mixes of all songs and rare remixes. The DVD contains the same remixes as the previous releases in the series, plus a DVD with a multi-audio selection that allows you to compare and contrast four different multi-audio selections, including remastered stereo, 5.1 surround mix, instrumental karaoke tracks, vocal main tracks, and more. The “Audio Album” includes a 5.1 surround mix, an instrumental karaoke track, and a vocal main track, as well as a “Video Collection” that includes different versions of the promo video and TV and live footage.
