The 17′ Ranger has traditionally been one of the most sought after canoes in our line. Since it’s introduction it has become our second most popular model of all time. The Ranger was redesigned in 1995 and the performance significantly improved.

Increased rocker will allow quicker maneuvering in difficult paddling situations. Added flare in the bow and stern will provide a drier ride. The volume of the canoe at the 4-6″ waterline (about where the paddlers sit) has been increased. This won’t slow the canoe down when paddled lightly loaded but it will provide a more seaworthy ride and a larger carrying capacity when required. This Ranger tracks well and is an excellent canoe for the inexperienced, as well as more seasoned paddlers.

The 17′ Ranger’s new design will make it even more suited for schools, camps and the rental industry. The fiberglass ribless layup is one of the toughest available in the fiberglass industry.

As in all of our canoes, the bow & stern are reinforced with aminimum of two layers of kevlar®. The ribless layup consists of 6 to 7 layers of glass on most areas of the hull bottom. The absence of any ribs or keels eliminates any ‘stress risers’ on the bottom of the hull. This will allow the hull to flex under extreme force with a minimum of adverse effects. As with all of our canoes, the bottom will remain rigid under virtually all paddling conditions, providing maximum performance.

For rental or group use, the Rangers should be ordered with the optional vinyl gunnel cover. When used in situations involving portaging, the 17′ Ranger can be ordered with an optional wooden yoke.

Superior to most, light weight for fiberglass, stable and easy to maintain. Durable and was the perfect choice for a 7 day Bowron Lake, British Columbia. 116 km with approximately 11km of portages. Handled well in open water with minimal drag and navigating Class III was not an issue other than a little water entry over the gunwale due the shallow freeboard due to overload… my bad. 4 out of 5 stars.

Thanks this [Tripper] is our second Clipper. We bought our first one 30+ years ago, a yellow 17 ft Ranger, and now have passed it over to our daughter who has 2 young kids to enjoy it with. We have many great family canoe memories with our Clipper and a beautiful canvas of our first Clipper at Lakeland Canoe circuit. Thanks for making such an awesome product we look forward to many more adventures in our new Tripper in our retirement years.

Very powerful and effective means of pre-evangelism. A very concise relevant tool in understanding what is presuppositional apologetics at best.

Great intro to for those who feel drawn to apologetics
Format: Kindle
James Sire has been a wonderful companion to many Christians who are called to use their intellect. I have been a fan of his ever since his book Scripture Twisting. Sire provides a great service to the Christian community first by identifying the many ways in which we engage in defense of the faith. We tend to think of great speakers in front of skeptical audiences, but there are many other ways in which apologetics is useful and necessary, such as when we are speaking to friends. Any time we are responding to their objections to Christianity, we can do so in a winsome and knowledgeable manner, even if we aren't an intellectual giant like Sire. Second, Sire identifies that types of personality characteristics and character traits necessary to pursue apologetics as a vocation. Of course, the primary characteristic is one of pursuing God. Included with this is some discussion about how we might recognize a calling in defense of the faith. Many pastors want to equip us in ministry, but Sire's discussion actually gets down to helping us recognize if this is our calling. Sire provides some pointers to great books on the major issues we might have to deal with. It's always good to have a book of great sources I also like the many examples he provides in his book about encounters with people, including mistakes he has made. I hope this will have a wide audience and encourage others to consider this calling.

Weak
Format: Paperback
I very weak primer on apologetics. The author is really not convinced himself; so, it is difficult for him to present convincing arguments.
