The new Lithium is for the rider looking for a kite that provides an endless amount of fun on the water, the Lithium is the ultimate in all-around hooked-in freeride performance kite.

Versatile in the surf, easy to ride, and light at the bar, the Lithium is predictable and stable in the air, and has incredible park ability.

The powerful three strut delta hybrid design enjoys a huge wind range and, combined with the wingtip shape and strut layout, ensures the quickest response through the window as well as instant relaunch.

The Lithium is equipped with the V3 Bridle System. The key benefit of the V3 bridle system is that the kite maintains steering even when completely de-powered, increasing the usable wind range and overall performance significantly while adding immense safety benefits. The positioning of the bridle attachment points on the LE of the kite, combined with the V pulleys result in lighter steering, but direct enough to feel where your kite is while riding.

Year after year, the Lithium has been refined to meet the needs of riders who simply just love to kite.
We wanted to stay true to its roots by keeping the Lithium in the delta-hybrid, 3 strut space that proves to be the benchmark in all-around freeriding.
The changes are significant yet still hold true to those who have been following the Lithium range through its progression. You will find that the Lithium has improved jumping and hangtime, lighter, more balanced bar feeling, and overall faster steering due to the change in planform and leading edge design.

The Lithium features Techno Force D2 canopy material. This premium fabric is designed with a high-density structure using high tenacity double-coated polyester yarn in a double ripstop configuration. The double coating protects the yarn as much as possible from UV and abrasion damage. This ensures that the canopy remains as crisp and responsive for as long as possible.

With the easy-to-use design of the Lithium, it is clear why it’s the World’s favorite freeride kite!

What were the key changes from a technical side for the Airush Lithium v13?

MP: The main change we made on the v13 is the material. We introduced the Technoforce D2 canopy cloth which has given the Lithium a fresh feel. It’s lighter in a literal sense, and when in the air it’s noticeable on the bar. The combination of canopy cloth and the updated shorter v3 Pulley bridle enables more precise steering while retaining its predictability, and ensuring that the bridles don’t get caught over the wingtip after taking a tumble in the early days of learning.

VH: I’ve been involved with the development of the Lithium for a few years now, and each year we have tried to maximize the performance to fit our customers’ needs as best as we can. This new version has been completely remade.

We’ve kept the previous benchmark key points of the Lithium and added in some very cool features such as, better relaunch, much better jumping and hangtime, very good high-wind capabilities, less bar pressure and more direct steering. It’s a great evolution. The  8m and 10m are my favorite sizes for their versatility.

Bridle Changes on the Lithium V13

VH: A bridle update can change a lot of things on the kite. I’ve been very involved in the R&D of the Lithium, but also working with Su Kay who has very good knowledge of kites and tweaking bridles. This version of the Lithium has got a very new shape, with a bridle that will really help to get that light bar pressure to fit all kinds of customers.

The bar pressure for that kite is a key point, but having it right includes many factors that can also affect other key points.
So far we believe we’ve achieved a very good new Lithium that can match all requests from a Lithium customer.
Freeride – comfort – versatility – performance

Attempting to Unravel Complex Ideas
Format: Paperback
Christian theology is interesting in that it is both readily accessible, and multi-layered (and quite complex). As a Christian, I can see the way Christ's teaching was designed to be understandable to all, in all walks of life and all educational backgrounds. That's a big part of why it is so profoundly moving and effective. However, the atonement is a surprisingly deep subject when we as more mature Christians (or at least more educated ones) try to delve into how exactly Christ's sacrifice on the cross worked. I am not an expert by any means, but I found this book deep and enriching in the ideas it presents. I have yet to fully grasp them or figure out how I feel about a few of them. But such is the way of studying the atonement - Christian theologians have been considering it for two millennia. The writing style is accessible enough, I was able to follow it without an issue. I consider this book more of a jumping-off point for further study than a conclusive explanation of all the facets of the atonement as we (try to) understand them.

Well argued
Format: Paperback
Perhaps I should say at once that giving this slim but meaty volume five stars doesn't mean I personally agree with it. It has been many years since I have subscribed to the substitutionary theory of Jesus' death or the idea that the Bible is anything other than a record of human interfaces with the Unknown. But a review is not the place to argue such points at length. Also, it behooves people who want to think, to seek out alternate and even opposing points of view, in order to test and maybe revise their ideas. Jeremy Treat did not change my mind, but he might have if I held the same view he apparently does of Scripture. He argues well, clearly, and persuasively, and makes a Christianity grounded on this view look at least potentially like a pretty good basis for decent living. There are one or two points that troubled me a little. The concept that Jesus died for us as a community is sound in itself, but if carried to extremes looks very much like the idea that underlay the infamous religious wars and persecutions. Also, on page 86, Treat says: "Forgiveness is not merely dismissing a wrong. My wife and I teach our children that when someone apologizes to them, they should not respond by simply saying, 'It's okay' … To truly forgive, one acknowledges the wrongdoing but chooses to not hold it against the wrongdoer. Forgiveness is … accepting the penalty on behalf of the wrongdoer for the sake of the relationship. It is absorbing the pain yourself rather than seeking to put it back on the other person." Now, to me, this looks like such a clear recipe for Trouble that I very much wish Treat provided several examples for how, exactly, he sees it working in everyday life. Sometimes, as when the apology is a "Sorry" for inadvertently jostling you in a crowd, the simple "It's okay" seems to me by far the best response. These few possible danger points, however, should be understood in the context of the book as a whole, which gives me the very strong impression of a practical pastor who knows his stuff, makes things hang coherently together, and probably gives useful and comforting counsel. I'm guessing, by his book, that he is a man I'd enjoy talking with in person.
