About Brazil Dedication... Kev Brown recently traveled to Brazil to do some shows. It wasn't initially planned, but Kev ended up sticking around for two whole months! While he was out there, he made this awesome instrumental record. Peace Y'all... All these beats were made in Brazil. I went to Sao Paulo in December (2012) to perform and somehow, I ended up staying out there for 2 months! Maybe I'll write a book one day... ha. I actually made more than these (beats) while I was there, but for this project I narrowed it down to joints that have either a Brazilian "sample" or influence. I brought the MPC 2500 with me... and yes, I still have the xl!. That was all I needed to make it happen. I was making beats in hotel rooms, at different people's houses... wherever. Goin' hard, sampling straight in from whatever source was available at the time. Most places I was at didn't have turntables. The "Baile Black Remix" actually features live musicians that are sampled from the original Hyldon session... that was definitely a new experience for me. Traveling alone to a place where the main language isn't English... Check my instagram (@kevbrownpictures). I was takin' mad pix till I lost my phone out there... haha. I Smell Like a Gentleman Who Owns a Fireplace
Scent: Bourbon Oak, Size: 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
The fragrance is warm, woody, and slightly sweet...that low amber note that smells expensive without trying to smell expensive, which, as we all know, is the actual expensive smell. My wife walked past me twenty minutes post-shower and said, unprompted, "You smell really good." I nodded like I had planned this.
The lather is genuinely rich; squeeze a modest amount and it blooms into a thick, creamy foam that covers everything efficiently. The texture is silky rather than watery, which matters more than people admit. Watery body washes feel like rinsing off with slightly scented regret. This one feels intentional. It cleans, and your skin actually feels clean afterward, not just rinsed. And the moisturizing? I wasn't expecting it. No greasy film, no lotion-begging dry patches by midday. Just quietly softer skin that doesn't make a big announcement about it.
Now, my honest gripe: the scent longevity has a ceiling. By mid-afternoon you're back to neutral. That's the gap between four stars and five for me. For daily freshness and an incredible morning window of smelling genuinely great, it absolutely delivers...but it won't carry you to bedtime.
On value: 16 fl oz is decent, the lather is efficient so the bottle lasts, and the price sits in that sweet spot where you feel like someone who makes slightly elevated but still reasonable choices, which is exactly the vibe this entire product is going for.
