Voices of Cherokee Women is a compelling collection of first-person accounts by Cherokee women. It includes letters, diaries, newspaper articles, oral histories, ancient myths, and accounts by travelers, traders, and missionaries who encountered the Cherokees from the 16th century to the present. Among the stories told by these "voices" are those of Rebecca Neugin being carried as a child on the Trail of Tears; Mary Stapler Ross seeing her beautiful Rose Cottage burned to the ground during the Civil War; Hannah Hicks watching as marauders steal her food and split open her feather beds, scattering the feathers in the wind; and girls at the Cherokee Female Seminary studying the same curriculum as women at Mount Holyoke. Voices of Cherokee Women recounts how Cherokee women went from having equality within the tribe to losing much of their political and economic power in the 19th century to regaining power in the 20th, as Joyce Dugan and Wilma Mankiller became the first female chiefs of the Cherokee Nation. The book's publication was timed for the commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the Trail of Tears.

Carolyn Ross Johnston has a B.A. from Samford University and a Ph.D. in history from the University of California-Berkeley. Her previous publications Cherokee Women in Crisis: Removal, The Civil War, and Allotment, 1838-1907; Sexual Power: Feminism and the Family in America; Jack London: An American Radical; and My Father's War: Fighting with the Buffalo Soldiers in World War II. A recipient of Woodrow Wilson and Danforth fellowships and a Pulitzer-prize nominee, Johnston teaches at Eckerd College in St. Petersburg, Florida, where she is professor of history and American studies and the Elie Wiesel Professor of Humane Letters.

"In her spirited and well-sourced collection, Johnston...unfolds history through the voices of people who remembered terrible events....An academic account that respectfully resurrects long-dead voices from a people who still have a lot to tell us." - Kirkus Reviews"

my skin looks so healthy!
these are the only collagen masks that i feel like hydrate my skin and don't break me out (i have very problematic skin, combination and acne-prone). it gives me that glow from within look/feeling. please be aware that collagen CANNOT be absorbed through the skin, only through diet!! so the only benefits you may get from these come from the other active/non-active ingredients in these masks. but i def recommend these none the less!!

Quite surprised! (positively)
I decided to give it a try after I saw it in a few videos on social media. Those masks really moisturise your face skin like nothing before, at least in my case. It does take few hours, but it’s definitely worth it. I personally tried it during the day, and took it off after 3.5h but my husband tried to sleep in it - ended up getting up at night to take it off so maybe sleep time is not the best :P Regardless - I think it’s working really well, and it’s also fitting nicely without “moving” so it’s comfortable to use it any time you’re doing something at home.

My skin was glowing.
When I first opened the mask it was so slimmy, I couldn't get it opened. But the essence soaked right into my skin after a bit and my skin felt soft and shiny. I felt so excited to put it on and try it out. The mask was worn overnight and it was able to stay on my face all night without falling off. So, the mask was very durable and an ease to take off. The moment you take off your mask is like the moment were a frog who turned into a PRINCESS. Okay, I'm exaggerating just a bit. But, not really. You're skin really glows and is shiny. You can put moisturizer on if you want, but I only recommend sunblock. You'll look stunning! Now, go and "shine bright like a diamond!"-Rhianna (Sorry, I just had to.)

Colorful, Sturdy & Great Value
Color: Large Set of 4
Purchased for our two puppies when they were 2 months old and weighed about 14 pounds so theses balls were a little big for them to hold in their mouths but that didn't stop them from trying. While they did like these balls they much preferred softer soccer balls, the later of which did not hold up well at all. I had hoped they would play with these balls more when they were older but that hasn't happened 5 months later. I guess it's no fun if you can't tear the toy apart. Colors are very bright and they do enjoy chasing after them as long as I am the one rolling them across the room for them. Maybe when they progress to batting things with their paws they will start to do this for themselves.
